  1. all dependent on location, as lures usually are, I'm confident in jigs and tubes regardless. jigs all year, anything that mimics baitfish in the fall, nothing mimics the action of a dying baitfish like a tube falling through the water.
  2. In that case I'd definitely go with the Ghost in Medium action.
  3. I use 5 inch, anything green or pink, had the most luck wacky rigging a Bubblegum Pink 5" and jigging it along.
  4. I personally have the Duckett MicroMagic Pro, great rod, never had any problems with it breaking or having to get the eyelets re-wrapped. My buddy dropped his bag on his MicroMagic's eyelet and bent it. He sent it in and they sent him a brand new 2015 model. The only thing is the warranty is weak.
  5. Abu Garcia Veritas, Denali Jadewood, Duckett Ghost, St. Croix Mojo Bass, Kistler Magnesium (on sale for 109 on Tackle Warehouse) All are around 100 or cheaper, personal favorites being the Ghost, Magnesium, and ***. All depends on what rigs you plan on using it for since action isn't an industry standard as far as lure weight goes.
  6. Thinking about learning to tie jigs. Does anybody know where I can get good components for cheap and videos explaining how to tie them? Thanks.
  7. For baits with trebles, like torpedoes and spooks, if you miss the hookset, odds are you waited too long, or jumped the gun. If it's a slurp I just rip it. However, if it's a blowup I wait to feel the fishes weight and then set the hook. For topwater frogs, you want to take a second or two so as to be able to tell if the fish brought it under, in the case that it has, again, just rip it. Most of the fish you'll lose on topwater are gonna be small, if you hook into a big one, you won't have to worry about timing, they'll just run with it. I consider myself as being pretty good at keeping 'em on, not just some amateur.
