  1. I'm gonna be throwing a Reins Bubble Shaker 7" on 12lb line. I'm gonna order the hooks from TW and just tired of ordering more than one Sz and returning. If not familiar with the Reins worm it's similar to a Zoom Trick Worm in Sz, so I'm between the Sz 1 and 1/0? Thanks guys.
  2. I let it dry for 4 or 5 min then opened the slit in belly of swimbait and could see it created what I would describe as a slice in the plastic. Maybe I need to let it set longer but I seen videos of guys in boats using it and fishing in a matter of minutes.
  3. Does anyone have problems with this stuff eating plastic instead of mending it? Is it just certain soft plastics that's a problem? Used it on a Smash Tech head smasher and it just made it open up like a cut.
  4. @adrenalnjunky so that offer is good on line also not just in stores? My walfart never has fishing stuff on sale, maybe some absolute junk once and a while.
  5. @bigbill man that sucks, been through it myself, Twice! Did it happen at a lake near a certain ramp so others can watch out for themselves?
  6. @CTGalloway21 Did not know they had a flat side. But now that u mentioned it they are an OPT bait so duh, yea I should of known. Awesome info thanks, will just be sticking to my current fry bait.
  7. Yea I looked it up on TW before I posted and also looked up their Rage baits that are scented w coffee but there is no mention of it, so I posted in case anyone that has already purchased some may comment.
  8. Anyone happen to know if SK scented this bait? I'm thinking since it's not in the Rage series that no it won't be.
  9. So to ask anyone that bought any of the knuckle baits if they are producing right now in the dog days of summer wouldnt really be telling us much. Guess we will have a better perception of the bait after this fall. I guess I will volunteer as a lab rat and buy a cpl lol.
  10. @whitwolf yea I knew Pradco recently released reproductions of the P70 correct? But it's not gonna be the plastic and lead ball which we both know is the difference and why they get big bucks for them. So you know in 84 Pradco made the P70 like the 76-78 ones with the lead ball. You can occasionally find them and they usually range from 50 to 70 dollars. So just a few days ago I received 2 P70's from 84 still in original boxes. Well after taking them out the one lead ball works so so in one and the other one you have to shake it very hard to move it and then it gets stuck. I'm really upset paid like 130 for the 2 of them. I don't know if after some use the lead ball will free up or? I imagine lead sitting in the plastic bait for 30 some yrs could oxidize or rust from humidity? Any thoughts or suggestions in regards to the lead ball? Is this just the risk you take purchasing something like this? My girlfriend says I should tell the guy I want my money back and return them as they don't function as they should. But I'm like babe they were sealed in the original package. So I'm not sure what to do.
  11. Wow, amazing info ty so much. Lol I have never even seen a 76 to 78 Pop R. Just purchased two 84's. And a bunch of Pradco 93's thinking they might have the lead ball, ? If you, your buddy or anyone you and they may know wants to part with any please let me know. Oh one more thing, I guess none of the Excalibur Zell Rowland baits would of had the lead ball either correct? Thanks a ton!
  12. @whitwolf thank u very much for taking time out of your schedule to do this for me, I greatly appreciate it.
  13. I'm in east tx, currently a co-angler till I get a boat in the near future. The current club I fish with only fishes lake Fork and after almost 3yrs it's getting old. There is so many awesome lakes in east tx and would really like to experience them via other clubs ect. If anyone knows of anything please let me know thanks.
  14. @Angry John Liking the sounds of that, an x-10 has been on my radar for some time now. Didn't know of the flexlite, gonna look it up. Is the Steez a spinning rod or baitcaster? I could use a shadrap rod also and one to throw my 1.0 kvd's on. Thanks for the info!
  15. So I'm have just made and about to purchase more Rebel Pop R's on Ebay. OK so original 1984 Pradco P 70 Lead One Knocker the holly grail. What yr did Pradco make them until 93? And the P 65 and P 60's pre 93 are they the lead One Knocker and same plastic as the 1984 P 70? It also looks like all the Pradco ones where made in Mexico, is that correct? And in 94 they started being made somewhere else can't remember off the top of my head, El Salvador perhaps? So bottom line I want to buy any of the sizes 60 65 70 but want the Pradco lead ball one knockers. So up to what yr should I look for and made where? And I mentioned I have seen 93's that say Pradco and ones that dont. Not sure if Pradco sold out that yr so some are Pradco and some in that yr aren't? Any and all hope would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!
  16. Thanks for the recommendation, but after wanting one for a while now and watching a great review on utube I'm going to go with the Steez SV TWS. Actually going to add several to my arsenal soon.
  17. Totally here where your coming from but these east TX and lake Fork fish are beast and there is so much cover than anything 5, 6lbs + I think I'm gonna be in a lot of trouble. Gonna find a Loomis or Megabass 6'8" M power Moderate action rod and load on of the Aldebarans w 10 then 12lb fluoro or a high end mono and see how that goes and tweak it from there if I have too.
  18. Several, Balsa Honey B, Discontinued Bill Dave Fat Free Fry, P60 Rebel Pop R's. Was walking in 100° heat when I posted using the 852 and clearly wasn't thinking lol. Already looking for rods on ebay. Loomis GLX CBR and their Deep Flex and CBR series. Also want to look into Megabass options. 6'8" to 6'10" length to cast to cover.
  19. I have the Keitech heads, but use the Dirty Jigs Matt Allen head. Have several other brands, the Warbaits w weedgaurd are really nice also. Fork is loaded w wood, I have those Warbaits from 1/4oz to 2oz w a 10/0 Owner hook lol.
  20. So I fish Fork in TX a lot and other high pressured big fish factories in TX. Because of the high pressure I want to start throwing 1/4oz crankbaits but need a balance where if I hook into a 8lb or larger fish I have a chance. I want to throw it on a baitcaster, my current lightest combo is a NRX 852 and a Aldebaran. With braid it wouldn't be too hard but I need to fish at least 10 more like 12lb line. U guys think it would cast ok? If not what are you throwing light stuff on in a baitcaster? Thanks
  21. I've had lots of high end glasses over the yrs and hears my .02. I've owned several Costas and Maui's as of late and know that I no longer like a glass lens because of the weight. After fishing all day they are just too heavy for me, anyway. I agree that u should go somewhere like bass pro, Cabelas ect that has a large selection to find what's comfortable on your face and astetically pleasing to you. I am about to buy a 2 pair of Costa Permits probably one in Copper and the other in Sunrise Yellow for morning dawn and overcast days. Anyway there is a chart obviously explaining what each color lens is best for and how much light transmission that lens let's through. There expensive glasses go for about $189 in the plastic vs $249 for the glass as the Permits do. You can order them from Costas site as they are the same price as the retailers and there is no extra fee or $100 up charge fee for choosing the frame you want the color of it and which lens you want in them.
  22. Yea I read that I just don't understand how weedless and that kind of rig are in the same sentence lol.
  23. I must have almost 40 fish on frogs this yr, almost all in the 5 to 7lb range. My favorite frog bar none R2S Bully Wa 1 & 2. Combo 7' 1" NRX HF - 16 Shimano Metanium 8.5 & 60lb Sunline FX2. I don't think I can recall any being hooked in and out the lips like a worm hook. My fish are hooked inside the mouth, in the roof of the mouth through the tounge ect. I always wait to feel the fish before hammering them, by then they have inhaled the frog. So I don't understand why you guys are talking as if they should be hooked like a worm hook through the lips with a frog. Am I misunderstanding what is being said or?
  24. Since you have much experience w Rapala I have a question. I have some unfished DT flat sided crankbaits DT 3's and 7's. Would u consider these coldwater crankbaits? Thanks.
  25. I just use a Owner twistlock 4/0 skin hooked. Works great and completely weedless. Do the same w Owner flashy hooks.
