  1. Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Are they coming out w a new line of rods to replace the Hyuga that you know of?
  2. Currently using an all graphite G Loomis GLX CBR855 it's a med-heavy mod fast rod. I fish east TX and catch some big fish on a chatterbait and most of the time once I get em in the boat the bait just falls out of their mouths. It's not a dull hook. So I want a new rod anyway and was thinking of going heavy mod-fast? G Loomis IMX PRO heavy mod-fast perhaps, never held one. Was looking at the Shimano Expride online but dont know what their glass rods are like, one I was looking at was a 7'2" heavy mod action. So any thoughts suggestions, what your using ect. I will be fishing fluoro on this setup it wont be a braid setup, thanks.
  3. Do the new Shimano reels like Mentaniums and Aldebarans come w them?
  4. This is goin on a Alpha Angler Wrench rod which is plenty light enough.
  5. Thanks for the post I searched in this forum w 0 results.
  6. I have the new Stradic, nothing wrong or great about it. I've had Sustains n Stella's but this is going on one of my tournament co-angler rods which get too beat up. Never had the Daiwa in my hand but leaning towards it unless I get an overwhelming response to stay w a Stradic. Thanks
  7. SK XD10s and other real deep diving crankbaits Shakyhead Wobblehead Tungsten
  8. Ugh... What's a spinnerbait?
  9. Was gonna drop the hammer on 2 Alpha Angler Wrench spinning rod. Fish east TX, Fork and surrounding lakes. Cast n drag drop shot leader 8 to 12lbs cuz of cover n structure. Other rod will be used for Neko n wacky wormmin. Had the NRX DSR n SYR and sold em. Wanted something with a little more power w a more parabolic blank. If anyone owns or owned one and want to give opinion of rod would appreciate it.
  10. 11lbs SK structure bug.
  11. Thanks for the replies guys. Have most of the baits listed. Gonna have to pick up a few. I'm into the balsa flat custom baits. Threw the trap this last wk in TX water was 52 but wasn't happening, caught em on the jerkbait. I was throwing the MB 110 and my buddy was smokin me w the Rapala x rap lmao.
  12. Got the shad raps., heard the bandits were good also but forgot about them. Thanks man.
  13. Need to stock up on these type of baits. Anyone successful w the Spro little john in cold water. I lean towards the balsa baits but have many Spros. But yea need new baits in this category and like I said I like the balsa but if u got a plastic u smash em on let me know. Thanks guys!
  14. Yea your exactly right, there is a science to matching certain baits to the right tackle. I'm a good stick but haven't done a lot of jerkbait fishing and want to get serious w it. Your rod selection for the reasons makes sense to me. What line u throwin on the 7ft rod for suspending jerkbaits?
  15. Yes I greatly appreciate it just tellin ya what I have to work with. Cant go grab a Slasher tonight lol. Thanks for the info brotha. From your and other guys info I should b ok w the NRX 802C. Goin to Hawkins in TX tomorrow!
  16. I'm takin an NRX 802C a GLX CBR855 MH and a Dobyns Champion Extreme HP 702. I dont have any 6 10" rods except one GLX spinning rod. Need to get a dedicated jerkbait rod, Megabass Destroyer Oneten. These r just the rods I'm gonna try jerkbaits on.
  17. I wanna know what line most guys fish em with. Maybe I should post that question.
  18. Probably gonna use the M power fast action rod. I think the CB rod would b too limber. But what line for suspending jerkbaits fluoro?
  19. Should I fish jerkbaits on a CB rod or on my M power fast action rod? Will the M fast action not be forgiving enough and pull baits out of there mouths? But I'm thinking a CB rod will be too limber and hard to jerk the bait. Thanks guys.
  20. Bought a ton of Jigs, is there a way of keeping the skirt bands from rotting? Seen a pro put baby powder on his rubber frogs to keep them from rotting?
  21. Only done it once, gonna be punching lily pads tomorrow. 1. I know some people even pros that use EWG instead on straight shank because the straight shank comes through the bait when pulling in and out of cover. Your thoughts? 2. The time I did punch I rigged my bait like I TXrig, I run the eye of hook with the knot into the bait. Problem was that 1oz weight kept pushing down on my bait messing it all up. Should I rig it with the hook eye out so the weight can rest om it? Gonna flip a SK structure bug, and is there anything I should know about flipping lilies? Ex-Heavy 7'5" rod w 60lb braid, thats the heaviest line I have right now. Thanks
  22. Wow what a sz difference between the 3" and the 4.5". So is everyone just dropshotting these? Was gonna try them on the Fish Arrow wheel head hooks? Open to ideas. Fishing Lake Fork tons of Threadfin right now.
  23. Bought the 4" split and straight tail to fish on the weedless wheel head they make and man that 4" bait in the split tail just makes it but the straight tail is too fat. That wheel head only comes in one sz on TW anyway just different weights. That and the wheel didnt spin and yes I had it backed off from being pusged up against the front too hard. Is the none weedless wheel head hooks the same sz? What am I missing here? Bought the 3" and they should work fine. Youtube video shows them w the 4" on, so unless the make different hook sz that TW isnt carrying yet than I dont get it. Anyone else fishing these on one of the Fish Arrow hooks instead of just dropshotting it? Thanks
