  1. Oh yea reason I wanted to post before rant, is the 2016 shimano bantam rod JDM or will it also be in the US? Sharp lookin rod for sure. Where u guys buy your JDM megabass rods? And what about evergreen international? I know ebay, japan tackle and jplat or something like that.
  2. Love this thread, moved from PA to TX recently and I'm an hr from Lake Fork, YESSS lol. Started fishing tourneys on it with a local club as a co. My PA rods didn't cut it so I'm in the process of aquiring a whole new arsenal. I too consider myself a high end tackle junky. Once my master plan is complete I will post pics and hopefully be accepted into the cult mmmwwaahahahaha. Bent rods and tight lines to all!
  3. So which co.'s product r u using? So your using the rod socks, the regular sz. cover, will it come down almost to the reel on a 7'1" rod?
  4. Yea that is sweet! Damm, that's sick man! Who makes your rods?
  5. Who makes this and where do you get them? Thanks
  6. If rod glove does anyone use the pro neoprene ones and do you like them? Also with rod glove are you buying xl for anything over 7' I want it to come close to the reel. Thanks
  7. So your saying I can use the 916C as my swimbait rod also? If so it looks like I'm going to want at least 4 of them. Do u have any of the 6'8" rods for tight work or spinnerbaits, topwater and jerkbaits? How do u walk a hollow body frog on a 7'5" rod? What brand crankbait rods do u use? I was gonna buy the GLX's.
  8. This helped me immensely, I just purchased the NRX 895C but have to go pick it up. So your saying u have an 895C and use it for pitching and it works great but wanted also wanted a heavier pitching rod and ended up w the 916C? I am ordering the 916C as I need an alabama rig rod. So the GLX 896C felt like a broom handle huh lol. You said u wanted a F not an XF tip yet on the Loomis site it has the GLX FPR rods listed as a F tip? I was also interested in buying the GLX 953C FPR for the length and use for lighter pitching and C-rigs, do u have any experience w this rod?
  9. Cool so u do own both, can u tell a difference in sensitivity? Thanks
  10. Anyone that's fishing these rods, was gonna use the NRX 895C for a flipping pitching rod. But it's only rated up to 1oz. The GLX which is actually a flipping rod is rated up to 1 1/2oz. Wanted the NRX as I would be able to feel a jig bite better as its more sensitive. But I'm worried that it may be too lite being rated for 1oz. Can anyone give me any suggestions or thoughts to this. Thanks
  11. I'm a loomis guy and I'm gonna be picking up some GLX crankbait rods. There heavy rod is rated for 1 3/8oz. I don't know if that will handle 2oz. baits like the 10xd ect? I'm also picking up a 916C UMB rod, does anyone know if there too stiff to be used as a swimbait rod? Thanks
  12. For its aesthetics or do u think its more sensitive? Have u owned a green one? I can't believe they sell more blue, pretty sure the majority on here prefers the green also. I had 2 blue and recently sold them and I'm about to purchase a dozen green ones. I really hope the blue ones aren't more sensitive, I find it hard to believe someone could actually tell the difference.
  13. As we all know they discontinued what I thought was a nice rod, the green ones. I hate the blue and know I'm not alone and don't believe for a second that there not coming out with a different color or different NRX all together. Has anyone heard anything in regards to this?
  14. No one's face is perfectly symmetrical. And most people's ears are higher or lower than one another, hence the reason you get your glasses fitted to your face. Normal thin wired glasses you can bend the arms and adjust the nose piece to fit them to your face. With glasses such as the ones you purchased can only be fitted by heating them up and adjusting them to fit. I've had several Costas with frames like that and they sat crooked on my face and we're very uncomfortable so I returned them. Frames like that look cool but unless your ears pretty close to parallel they are gonna look crooked and not be comfortable. I also come to learn that whenever I buy glasses with glass lenses they make them too heavy and after hrs of wearing them they too become bothersome on my nose bridge. My frames also sat the same way on a table one arm higher than the other. Think they need to be like that to fold. So that's my .02 worth, currently wearing Maui Jims and like them very much but they are glass lens and get too heavy.
  15. I looked into it more, the LC RC baits on ebay that is. And they get those prices for them because the are discontinued colors and baits obviously. A lot of the copper colors that RC himself likes more than other colors.
  16. Is there a difference between the discontinued LC RC 1.5 2.5 ect and the current 1.5 2.5 ect? I see the RC ones are selling for 30 a pc. and more on ebay. Guess they are discontinued colors.
  17. Awesome thanks!
  18. Do u buy these in bulk directly from mister twister or somewhere else?
  19. So far about $1200 worth of tackle. Loomis NRX green 895, 893, 853 Loomis GLX 802 Pre-ordered 4 2016 Shimano Mentaniums Placing a huge order of rods once my income tax check comes, but I'm starting off from only 2 rods and reels before I got these NRX and GLX rods.
  20. Don't forget the Roland Martin Helicopter lure, yea buddy! Caught more fish on that bait then any other. Constantly searching ebay to keep me in stocked on them. Truth is its the only bait I need on the boat anymore. I have the most success fishing it around shear cliffs and letting it helicopter down weightless in 80 to 120ft of water, and hold on. The strikes are arm breaking. We also use it offshore trolling for tuna on one of those green sticks. Oh almost forgot it works great on Alabama rigs also.
  21. Yea but that won't fit in a lot of these small back compartments he's talking about will it? My bass pro 360 extreme doesn't fit in all of them and I have different 3600's in mine.
  22. Seems like more guys are fishin the 1.2 over the 1.5. I fish Fork in Tx and was gonna go with the 1.5. Any thoughts, have u fished the 1.5? Have those in my cart! Ok yes WEC, been on the above site. Yes have read nothing but good things about these baits. Definitely grabbin some of them.
  23. I have at least 8 of the 1.0 never fished them and not sure why I bought em lol. And now that I live in Tx and live by Fork I'm not sure I ever will. What setup do you throw them on? Didn't even know zoom made hardbaits?
