  1. Which one u leaving on? I think I like the gold, I was also looking at the gold handle on Hedge-Hog. I'm gonna put those EVA foam knobs on mine. I've never felt the Daiwa cork knobs how do u like them? They r cork correct? It's really nice that u can put whatever knobs u want on those handles except the ABU I believe.

  3. Just got these in the mail. It's been a long time since buying new rods and reels and I'm blown away by the sz of the 201HG. Definitely gonna pick up a 101HG and probably a 301HG for the bigger stuff.
  4. Thanks guys that gives me a much better insight too these rods.
  5. So I fished the 30lb. Daiwa Samurai braid on my spinning reel a Shimano Stradic CI4 3000 this past Thursday and loved it. IMO it's a great braid, very soft and manageable. Fished in the green color and it didn't bleed all over everything, although it did rain a cpl hrs when we started. Had no issues w wind knots, wind was 10 to 15 mph. Will leave it on till its shot then will put the 30lb. Sunline SX1 that I have on as I never fished that line either. Fished it w a fluro leader and an FG knot with no problems. When I get home I'm gonna post a pic of that knot, it's incredible. I fished a good 12 to 15ft leader and had not problems going and coming through the guides and on off the reel. I know u guys know the knot but just want to show how mine came out, it's the second time I've tied and fished that knot.
  6. I have heard and read a lot of good things about these rods lately. I haven't had one in my hand and was looking for some opinions from someone fishing them. Their price is $200 and I talked to a guy that has them and many other rods and was comparing them to NRX rods?
  7. I see a lot of guys mention buying sample/dealer demos. I guess u need to know someone to try to buy these huh?
  8. I have the GLX, IMX and had Avids. If your talking about fishing bottom contact baits like u mentioned I would go with the GLX.
  9. That's cheap considering some of their models sell for what 7 or more dollars. Thanks for the advice KVD. Advise that I get from guys like u is why I post on this forum, thanks again Kevin.
  10. Not sure why it's quoting this post, does it often to me. But just wanted to post that I must have 50 if not more Strike King spinnerbaits but never catch anything on them. I have many others also but lookin to buy more and wanted to see what u guys r fishin. The War Eagle, Revenge, Picasso, Stanley and R2S Ish spinnerbaits are top quality and some of the others I own. Maybe it's me but fishin for 44yrs and try all kinds of different retrieves in overcast windy conditions and just don't catch many if any at all on the spinnerbait. Having the same problem w chatterbaits, just don't get it. Anyway I'm gonna sell off a bunch of these SK spinnerbaits and put the money towards new baits.
  11. Or as they call it in Tx a chicken rig lol. I've only lived in Tx for 4yrs and just learned this lol.
  12. There is a ton of Spinnerbaits and Spinnerbait manufacturers on the market. It's very expensive, time consuming ect. to weed through the mass array of them to find the ones that really fill the livewell. With that being said which manufacturer, spinnerbait or spinnerbaits are your favorite? Thanks guys!
  13. Thanks guys! Appreciate the opinions and advise. I fish without pegging my weight. But last tournament I fished the boater fished the same 4" worm I fished today pegged and did well. I got skunked today and fished without it pegged like always but the lake fished hard today and a lot of guys went home with an empty card so I don't contribute my lack of success today due to how I rigged my worm. BUT if you think about it with and without it pegged it makes the worm fish different. Falling faster with it pegged vs. not pegged separating on the fall and hence falling slower. So who's to say the fish don't want it falling through the water column faster one day vs another. We always emphasize fall rates when fishing jigs and how the fish prefer diff fall rates on any given day ? maybe I'm crazy but next time I'm gonna split the time I fish and see what happens.
  14. When u fish a texas rig do you peg your weight? Not punching just casting and dragging worm. And does the sz of the worm determine weather you peg it or not? Today I will be fishing a 4" worm with a very small weight, beating the bank, casting at cover and stumps would you peg? Thanks guys!
  15. Just using this braid cuz it's what I have and want to try it out. The 30lb Samurai is the equivalent of 6lb mono.
  16. Using backing to cut down on how much braid I put on the reel. Yea I won't ever get into the backing that wasn't a concern. Was asking about the mono as in using a thinner dia will help from keeping the braid from digging into it. Got the Samurai on sale but still don't wanna sell it as I'm sure I will take a loss. Normally I would use 20lb braid but I wanna use this stuff up and try it out in the process.
  17. Ok then I'm putting it on, what backing? Thin diameter mono so it doesn't dig in?
  18. I have a spool of Daiwa Samurai and Sunline SX1 in 30lb. I don't think I want to put 30lb Braid on my baitcasters and since these braids are both very thin and limp I thought I would put them on my spinning rod? Right now I have 20lb PP on my spinning rod and it's pretty old. I'm not worried about breaking my rod that's what my drags for so there should be no reason I can't use this stuff right? Bought it cuz I got it for a great price. And last, when I put my PP on I didn't use any backing but want to with this. Should I just use a small diameter mono as my backing or just use the PP that's already on it? Haven't had any problems with it slipping. Thanks guys.
  19. Weightless Senko or Fluke or with a Splitshot a ft up the line. I really like black/blue flake senkos if the water is stained to muddy. If the water is high stained or muddy from recent rain try to throw to cover as the fish will be holding tight to it. Green pumpkin Fluke with the tail dipped in chartreuse jj's magic is also great and imitates a bluegill.
  20. Does anyone use a singled bladed spinnerbait besides at night? Would u use it in stained to muddy water also or just go to a double colorado or Indiana blade? Thanks
  21. That's awesome, they haven't done anything for me. I have several hundred SK hardbaits, and recently bought one that the rattle wouldn't work in. I have maybe 3 total out of all of them that don't rattle, so I sent a cpl emails and never got a response.
  22. Cool thanks man, have u seen the guide series and tried them on by chance?
  23. I just bought Ned rig components yesterday lol, no more goose eggs for me!
  24. Nothing to see here.
  25. 425 and wanted it so bad that I bid up to 650 for it lol.
