  1. I recently picked up the 852C and it's an awesome rod with a great tip. Perfect for throwing the baits in the range u mentioned. And sensitivity, wow, off the charts. U know exactly what your in contact w on the bottom and the lightest bites are unmistakable.
  2. It's hard to pick one since for me it's decided by water color and lake I'm fishing. But out of the colors listed I fish black/blue flake and watermelon red flake the most.
  3. Two entirely different animals, but if I had to choose on a T-rig where I fish it would be the brush hog. But I own pleanty of rage craws and love em.
  4. As long as they are as good as the Plano then I'm good w that. The comments made them seem like they were flimsy and cheap and not up to par w the Plano or Flambeau. Thanks guys.
  5. Been looking at the Bass Mafia Coffins, those are the clear ones not the red. But the reviews on TW aren't that great. Anyone have them? How do they compare to Plano & Flambeau? On TW a lot of people complain that they are flimsy. Thanks
  6. Have u tried the uni to uni? It's a very simple knot to tie with lots of vids of it on utube.
  7. May I ask what your using for jerkbaits?
  8. Looks like I can pu a new Sustain 2500 on ebay for $205 compared to $329 on TW. Last Sustains I had were the gray color but I really dig the black ones.
  9. That's the lake fork tackle hook I believe. I have been meaning to pick some up since I've been throwing my frog in stuff that's not that bad. I don't know how they fish frogs on such long rods. I prefer a 6 9 to keep the tip out of the water when walking it.
  10. Are u serious? That kinda sucks, but I did pick up some Keitech 3.3 fat swings. So they should work pretty good huh?
  11. Ordered some Coolbaits Underspins during the TW sale yesterday. Never fished them before, what baits are u guys using on yours? The ones I ordered are only 3/16 so that plus the bait should give me a 1/2oz so should be able to through on baitcaster or are u guys throwing them on spinning rods? Thanks
  12. Man u can't beat those Lew's reels for the price. Which model IMX is that? Wish they made the NRX's in black like that.
  13. I did read that the Mustads I ordered can be snelled. So I will try both knots Palomar and Snell and see if there's a difference for me. I have some Havoc craw fatty's and Pit boss's but ordered some D bombs finally and can't wait to pitch those this Thursday.
  14. I have had these for a while in one of my terminal boxes. I must have a 100 of em between the 4 and 5/0. So i either want to use them or sell them. These Mustads are comin tomorrow, they look like what I will be sticking with, this and the monster 3x hook they make.
  15. I picked up some Trokar flipping hooks and it looks like there's no room to snell these. Anyone else using them? If I can't snell them do u think it will affect my hook up ratio?
  16. I like the heavier braid in the wind. A lot of guys don't like fishing braid because the wind will cause a lot of bows in the line esp on the water. I don't have that problem. I did put high viz yellow on some reels this yr. And although I love being able to see my line well esp were the leader and fluro meet. It still brings my confidence down when fishing them. Fish are very pressured and line shy where I fish. That has glue on it also.
  17. That's my 50lb to 16lb FG knot.
  18. I just tied an 8lb leader on for my ned rig. It's the smallest I have. Will it affect the bait?
  19. Maybe I just needed more practice. But I have tied them recently and they came out real nice and small and held great. Just tied fx2 50lb to 12lb and 30lb to 8lb, they came out pretty good, but not perfect. They will hold but could of been a little nicer. I don't tie thus knot in the boat yet, I tie the uni to uni but it's a little bigger and doesn't go through the guides quite as good.
  20. I fish Lake fork, but want to try the ned rig. I currently have 30lb daiwa samurai braid on which is a small dia. But what lb leader can I get away with before affecting the action of the bait. If I can do 8lb with no problems that's what I will use.

  22. I have only tied the knot a cpl times and love it. However it was with heavier fluro as my leader. Now I'm trying to tie 12lb. co-poly and it's not working out. Could it be the leader material is too soft and that's why I'm having a hard time tying it?
  23. To be honest u just have to fish it and learn from experience on the water. After 40+ yrs u will become zen like and one with the rod and fish lol. U will get so many different bites by different sz fish. It will just become natural and muscle memory and time on the water will tell u to set or let him take it. I got all new setups this yr and on Lake Fork a Senko is always on deck. Fishing them on a baitcaster this yr finally and it's so much better. The 853 or 893 NRX with a Met XG suline fx2 to fluro or co-poly leader of at least 5 to 6ft but usually double that 5" senko on a 3/0 Owner twistlock light, the GYC hook. Man these rods r amazing, shimano's qc has gone to well where ever. Man I wish the public could buy these blanks. I would have them built with all Torzite guides and different handles. But the sensitivity of the blank is amazing. So get the best rod u can afford for your bottom contact/weightless plastics, and get on the water as much as possible and u will do better every time out.
  24. It's a crazy hobby just like any of them. Hunting, bow hunting, guns, reloading, rc cars lol. Me, I found a rich gf. She always says u know u only have so much time to do things lol. And u get into hobbies because u enjoy them which makes it very hard not to drop coin on something u love to do.
