  1. I currently have Sunline FX2 spooled on a cpl reels. Now I went w 50lb because I use a fluro leader. The reason I went w 50lb is because before buying it I researched braid on here and read a lot of guys complain or not use braid because of wind knots. It's more often windy on the lake than not, so I figured I would try the 50lb and I have not had any problems or one wind knot. I want to purchase some of the new Sunline BX2 and would rather fish the 35lb because of the diameter. Are you guys having problems w the 35lb in the wind? Any of you run the 50lb like me besides on a frog rod? And last does anyone know if TW did anything w Sunline last yr for their 25 days of Christmas? I wouldn't think they will at least not w the newest stuff so figured I would grab it at 20% off. Thanks guys.
  2. Stop buying gear? Never heard of such a thing.
  3. I moved from PA to TX and fish Lake Fork and I never felt fish with this much power. And it's the 5 to 7lbrs that are big but not overweight, like a pro athlete that take it to ya. Anyway I'm fishing Mentaniums & Aldebarans and have fish pull line on locked down drags. Or if I'm reeling the handle simply turns. I lost 4 nice fish this yr because of it and the fish ended up wrapping me around a stump.
  4. I did yesterday, not sure what they have left. I picked up the last 2 16 Mets 151XG's and the last 15 Aldebaran 51HG all for $314 a pc. And an NRX 894C for $400.
  5. I have 3 13's and got 2 16's and a 15 Aldebaran 51HG on sale yesterday for $314 a pc. The cheapest the 16 JDM Mets are goin for on the auction site right now is $323.
  6. Man that's nice, either this or the magnesium one are gonna be my next cpl of reels.
  7. Wow I'm so grateful that you two left your opinions in regards to the 842C. And by comparing them to other models I own really helped decide what to do. @Goose52 thanks so much for such a detailed and in depth discription of the 842C. I have 13 NRX'S and after reading your response I contacted the retailer and paid the $33 dollars to get the 894C. Thanks again guys!
  8. Yea lol, actually it was just a really bad set of circumstances that snowballed until it was all said and done. The guide I was suppose to fish with is well known and has been a guide on Fork for a long time and also fishes or fished one of the professional trails. I forget exactly how many days before I was to fish with him but it wasn't many and I cut my hand very bad. I cut the top of my hand right below my pinky and ring finger it was very deep my tendon was coming out of it. So they weren't sure if I damaged the tendon bad enough that I was gonna have problems moving those fingers correctly and if not would of had to go to therapy. So since it was my fault not the guides he could of kept my $200 deposit. But he said he had a friend and instead of losing my deposit I could pay the rest of the $300 and go with him and you know the rest lol. And with Fork having the reputation it does and people coming from all over the world to fish it the amount of guides to research and choose from is insane.
  9. Fished w a guide for the first time 2 yrs ago on Lake Fork. Really had no idea what was the norm and what wasn't. Well let's just say I paid a guy $500 to slam it up my butt for 9 hrs lol. Live and learn, never crossed my mind to research what the guide normally does. Well for $500 bucks I fished on the back of a 21ft Ranger while the guide fished in front of me all day. I caught like 5 dinks to his 15 or so with one being a nice 6lber. Needless to say I was furious half way through the day. And I'm not a quiet guy I have no problem telling anyone exactly how I feel. But this guy was probably in his 60s and I didn't know what was normal so I felt weird to say hey man throw down your weapon lol. Now I'm also not an idiot and in the back of my mind I was like this is messed up. Guess I could of should of said something? But then there goes having any chance of having a nice day as I'm sure it would cause tension on the boat and he could easily be like sure I won't fish and take ya for a boat ride the rest of the day. And then every spot you stop at becomes a "man we killed em here yesterday" spot lol! Teach me anything? lol we barely talked as he was too busy fishing. Obviously I didn't tip. And I kind of have an issue with the whole tip thing. He's not someone that works for someone else and doesn't make a decent salary like a waitress or cab driver ect. This is someone that made his rates and is making $14k a month. Yea I feel that $500-$550 to take someone fishing for 8-9 hrs is fair. And no I'm not cheap, people that work for tips I tip well .
  10. Wow that's insane how easy those creeks are to see. Did someone edit the pic and highlight them? When we are on lake Fork there is tons of timber and if you have an idea where the creek is sometimes you can follow it by the trees running along either side of it.
  11. Right back at ya guys! Have a great day or evening lol. Hey WRB, I seen your post but didn't open yours till after I posted my Happy T-Day thought it's was pretty funny. Read mine and u will see what I mean.
  12. Happy Thanksgiving to all my bait chuckin brothas! Nothing like gorging on food all day while sittin in front of the TV w the laptop buying fishing gear ya don't need lol. As Hickok45 would say, life is good!
  13. Thanks WRB, I appreciate it. Happy Turkey Day brother!
  14. I read it's 5 days right into the beginning of 25 days of Christmas, sounds too good to be true. Guess we will find out and I forget where I read it.
  15. Just picked one of these up for $367. Guess it's an MBR rod, I've never owned one of these models. Anyone have one? Hope I don't regret it, wanted a 852C but they were gone and this was the last 842C. Wanted a 894C also and wondering if I should of got that instead.
  16. *** 30% off Loomis rods 25% off Shimano and 25% off a bunch of great bait companies like SK Rage, Keitech ect and 20% off entire rest of the site.
  17. I want to order some on sale. They come in different weight ratings, does anyone know if the physical size goes up as the weight rating does? If so which one is good for like 1.5 & 2.0 crankbaits? Thanks
  18. What are the 2 rods to the far left? And what do u have in the rod socks? And last lol where did you purchase the reel and rods from? I want to start buying some JDM equipment. Thanks I appreciate it.
  19. Anyone know when or if these are out yet? Also where else besides Japan Tackle could I look to purchase one? Thanks guys.
  20. Texas Tackle split ring pliers are the only way to go. The standard sized ones w the yellow handles cover all the baits I use so far. @ TW for 14.99
  21. Wow, who makes that?
  22. Owner
  23. No I want a soft rod and own a MH mod fast Loomis CBR and it's too stiff I use it for ripping lipless cranks. So the 843 it is. Afraid to get one of the Deep Flex blanks. Heard people say they were too soft. Thanks
