  1. Yep that's absolutely it. And with the base fly rod starting at 1k these casting rods are gonna be at least $700-$750 bucks.
  2. U were right then, I didn't read the article yet. But if it says that's how there built than that's them. Should be able to get an idea of cost but how they are pricing the fly rods. It's funny cuz when I heard this it wasn't long after I seen a video of those fly rods and it ran through my head quick but I should of known that was gonna be the blank. No no, I heard the same thing that they are better than the old ones. If you were thinking of getting one u should definitely check em out. I just don't like the aesthetics of them that's all.
  3. I seen that rod, do you know if it's CF inside the blank? That's what I heard of this new one.
  4. Lol, can't battle over what someone prefers or dosent. Or for the reasons they don't like something right, so yea no battles needed. I don't hate the NRX or I wouldn't own 15 of them. Just don't care for the guides, would like a different handle and hate the color. I have heard the same about the GLX, why they aren't selling like they hoped I don't know. Why wouldn't I buy one, because of aesthetics alone. And it's a complaint u read in forums. I wish they sold the blanks too. @S Hovanec do u have any rods on the NFC HM blanks?
  5. Can u imagine a rod lighter, more sensitive and stronger than a NRX! I can't, but it's true. Rumor has it that Loomis will be unveiling it at ICAST 17. I'm putting a hold on any NRX purchases. Man would love to see a raw unfinished black blank w Torzite guides and a split grip different than the current NRX one. I imagine this things selling for $7 $750 $800. I'm over the current NRX and was hoping they were gonna change it. But I was told that the new GLX is not selling like they hoped lol no kidding! Took who knows how much money in design and engineers to come up w something that I could of told them in 5 min wasn't gonna be a big seller. Anyway they thought it was gonna do better and eliminate the NRX and come out w this new one. But since the GLX is a flop they r keeping the NRX. That would of been another bad idea, ya can't go from a $400 or whatever they sell for GLX to something which I think is gonna be priced so high. They would of lost a lot of sales on the people in between buying the NRX.
  6. I agree w everyone else, it's something u definitely can't go by as far as comparing rods. And even if the same graphite was used they would be different. The resin, how it's wrapped ect is huge. The type of guieds how many and where they are placed is also a big factor. And those things just mentioned is also why one manufacturers MH is not like anothers MH ect. I have no stores around me to hold rods and buying a brand I never owned before is a pay and pray deal.
  7. Man what I would do to have a DSG or any sporting goods store for that matter around me lol. Soon though as we r moving. Anyway yea I would of bought like 60 and got 120.
  8. I've been fishing as a co-angler for a yr and a half now. And like the guys mentioned above I always call my boater the day before and find out what his game plan is, what's he gonna fish and what kind of water does he plan on fishing. The best scenario would be to pre fish with him. I started buying my rods and reels shortly after starting to fish the tourneys. I have 22 rods and 11 reels right now but almost never take more than 5 because it's just a pain and they get in the way. So after I talk to the boater and do all my online research of the lake then I decide what I'm going to throw and put 5 rigs together. Then I bring 40lbs of baits and fish 3 or 4 cuz I'm too lazy to re tie lol. Good luck and most importantly have fun, learn, and it's always fun to whoop the boater who has lived on the lake for 15yrs in his 70k rig. For some reason they never see the humor in that lol.
  9. Did you get the 2.0 for much of a price difference? If yes may I ask the site you bought them from? Thanks
  10. I made a deal w a store owner to give him all my rod and reel business for the discount.
  11. @Fishin' Fool I get 30% off all rods and 20 to 30% off reels. So $385 for the 872S.
  12. Thanks man. @NorcalBassin Thanks man I appreciate it. I didn't take it in a weird way I just didn't want to be seen in a certain way. But thanks for putting things straight. These were delivered today lol.
  13. About to spool mine up for Thursday! Is the one above the FK? Lol if so I just bought the other one.
  14. Now I feel like the type of person I don't like. No need to post stuff I buy in here. I'm here to learn get advice and opinions and posting my gear doesn't get me any of that.
  15. Yea I know I know, lol. That's what I thought too but the guy in our club was slow rolling these in 18ft and knockin the snot out of em.
  16. No unfortunately u didn't lol. I would of bought the GL2, Did they have a cpl of them?
  17. Ordering a NRX 872S to go w that new Stradic Ci4. Those plastic baits are from a local guy at tackle shop on Fork. Awesome colors smells like JJ's magic. Oh yea 2 of the jigs are the M pack swim jigs and the other 2 are Talons. Those Talons are really nice hand tied, gonna buy a bunch of those.
  18. Not me but it just helped confirm again that the 872 is the one I'm ordering. TONIGHT lol.
  19. Don't know why I thought it was your site just because your username is the name of the site but I did, pretty stupid I know lol. Thanks for the help it really gave me an idea of what to get.
  20. Alright so how about this crazy ****. I was searching the Internet, Google and came across your website. So I was checking it out than came on here to see that u responded to my post. Nuts huh lol, maybe we should both buy lottery tickets today. I use braid to fluro, the aaron martens gammy hook and Robo hooks. And I just got my new Stradic Ci4 2500 in the mail yesterday for this new rod lol. Do u have an 852?
  21. I will PM u here in a min. I didn't think anyone was gonna reply to this post. I'm so glad u guys did I didn't want to be buying another rod with no idea how it fishes. When you say the 872S has more tip do u mean a more flexible tip? I'm getting away from the 822S cuz I want a stiffer tip. I fish Fork the most and with so much cover it's nicer to texas rig or use the Robo Hooks like I do which is the same thing. Do u have any experience or even held the 902S? Yes I have that rod and I want a stiffer tip than that also. Spoke to a cpl guys that have the shakyhead rod also that don't like it especially when using a meatier worm like a Senko ect on a shakyhead. Probably gonna buy whichever one I decide on and use it for both and ditch the other 2 rods. Yea pretty sure this is the rod I'm gonna get. I would imagine with them all being 2 powers the longer u go the more tip soft wise, the shorter the rod the stiffer the tip. Which makes me look to the 852S but I originally wanted the 902S for the length and hoping it would be stiff enough. So the 872 would only be 3 in shorter but the 852 is 5. Wish someone had a 902 or at least held one and could compare.
  22. I was wondering the same thing when I made my purchase in regards to the G Splash. There is only one color Slender left.
