  3. Thanks man, have u fished any NRXs to compare it too? Wondering if they tend to fish heavier than the Loomis.
  4. I need a trout rod and no shop to look at these. They have a 7' light and a 7'6" med light that are the kind of specs I'm looking for. How are the batwing real seats? Are the uncomfortable? And do these blanks usually run true to rating or are they lighter or heavier. It's one of these or the NRX 901S. I have NRX rods so I'm familiar w them but dont like the recoil guides and wanted to try something new. Any input would be great thanks.
  5. Dam, that sucks.
  6. Want to make ebay purchase has anyone bought any recently? Did it take longer or is the usps holding packages coming in from Japan? Thanks
  7. This is gonna be on a 9'6" big water trout float rod. Up in arms over the 2500 xh or the 3000 cxh. I'm leaning towards the 3000, bigger spool same handle length. So better line management and it only weighs a little more than 1/8oz more. But this is the reel I'm getting.
  8. Title says it all. Need a spinning reel in a 2500 sz and it's one of these two. Mostly Shimano guy, but the new Stradic Ci4 I have is junk. Have older Sustains that are nice, not buying a Stella or Exist and the Exsence starts in a 3000 sz. Havent been able to see either of these reels in person so not sure how one feels over the other. Looking for the reel which takes less inertia to turn and is the smoother of the two. If you have experience with either reel please let me know your thoughts, thanks!
  9. I dont understand why the black ratchet gear the clicker arm makes contact with spins? That seem to be when it clicks doesnt clicks ect is when the black gear is moving instead of being stationary? Besides that the handle is horrible, loose do to the bearings not being concentric with the side plates, main gear ect. Shimano cert shop I sent it to said they shim them to fix it but its not any better w more shims. Maybe the ci4 plates arent the way to go? The reel is 2yrs old but barely used looks new. Sorry for the rant but I will be in the Daiwa camp soon for my spinning reels.
  10. No, looked at them didnt help.
  11. Had multiple issues w it but it's almost fixed. The drag clicker is working off and on. I need a reference pic of it inside the spool to compare it to mine. And how the spring is put in. Would greatly appreciate it, thanks.
  12. Does anyone know what the difference between the 18 exsence 3000MHG 530 dollar reel and the JDM 18 exsence 3000MHG Ci4+ 270 dollar reel? Thanks
  13. I'm really happy w the IMX PRO, very light. Throwin my Keitechs and chatterbaits on it. Gonna pick up another for big CBs.
  14. Oh yea its moving, little over 1/16in in and out, that acceptable or no? They put the nut cap on crooked and I fished it all day with that spool hitting it, not sure if it did something at the worm gear or not didnt tear it back apart yet.
  15. Sent my Stradic to a Shimano dealer and they did me bad. But anyway, should there be any in and out play in the main shaft? Thanks
  16. That's awesome I'd be really happy to get that out of these lol.
  17. Good to know, thanks.
  18. Yea for 400 a reel and I have several in each model I will buy some extra high wear parts as I dont want to be down a reel.
  19. How long will the generally make parts for their reels? I'm thinking I should order some replacement parts for my 13 Mentaniums and 15 Aldebarans also? To maintain them and it's not a witch hunt once they no longer carry the parts.
  20. Yes I'm freshwater only and I'm doin the same on worm gear, 2 needle drops of TSI 321. What about clutch plate and do u re pack the hole under main shaft w grease again?
  21. So do you grease the 2 plastic gears in the reel? The worm gear one and the one on the handle shaft. They say u can run the plastic ones dry, which I have but between that and cleaning the grease Shimano packs under that handle shaft were the bearing sits down in has made the reel feel not as smooth. I went with not packing grease back under shaft because I plan on cleaning them frequently because I fish a lot and it makes cleaning easier. I think they do it for corrosion as its the lowest part of reel and water will collect. I stripped my Mentaniums and Aldebarans down to bare frame and cleaned everything the only grease I used was on main and pinion gear, no where else, none on the clutch the yoke posts no where. I did think about putting very light grease on the back of the clutch plate as it sees so much wear but on the Shimanos it rides on what they call a clutch plate which is like a Delrin piece it rides on that can be replaced its real slick so I left it dry like everywhere else. Yea did the Carbontex thing light Shimano drag grease same that is used on the main and pinion gears. Your thoughts, opinions, advice? No need for bearing talk, please lol.
  22. It starts this Friday and runs till Tuesday.
  23. We used all those style hooks in the beginning w pretty good results and then it became the cool thing to use these long shank hooks for the rig. But if that's what the pros r throwing I figured I try em out. Like I said above I'm not down w the bigger VMCs I bought, picking up a pack of sz 1 and 2 of the new Owner hook and gonna try it.
  24. I agree on the weedless part, even after making them shorter so their stiffer they dont do much.
  25. When I started fishing it I would do so on a wacky hook. Bought the VMC 1/0 n 2/0. They seem very big, not much experience with them at all. Weedless hook doesnt really seem much better to me. So with a Trick worm sz bait what brand n sz hook are you using? Thanks
