  1. Went to BPS in Columbia MO Saturday evening to see if they had any deals. Wound up grabbing some flukes and Powerbaits worms and craws and some Paca craws. There's a rebate that allows you to get 5 bags of Powerbait plastics for $1.75 each which I took advantage of. And last week I took advantage of a great deal offered by a fellow forum member on this Daiwa T3 MX 7.1:1 reel. My first JDM reel, and I'm pretty excited about pairing it up and using it. Planning on spooling up with 15 lb. fluoro and using it as my jig setup. I'm trying to decide what rod to pair it with, thinking about a Daiwa Zillion or Tatula, in keeping with the Daiwa JDM aesthetic. Recommendations? I love the subtle patterns of the Zaion frame!
  2. Wow. Learn something new everyday.
  3. Not saying you're not right, but a whole spool of braid will slip? I don't think I've ever experienced that.
  4. I bought one this summer and used it a lot. It's pretty sweet. From a kayak it completely changed how I fish, and the same pretty much goes for fishing from the shore. It floats so if you do break off you can probably still get it back easily enough. I haven't casted it too much on a rod and reel, but when I do even a M with 30 lb braid has worked ok so far. If that braid were to snag on something while it's being casted though it'd snap for sure. I think MH with 25 lb mono would be pretty much unbreakable. I highly recommend the Deeper. You're not fishing "blind" anymore when you have one.
  5. If you want to sell off your lead jigs cheap...
  6. Did you ever consider that maybe what you're paying for with Boca is the QC? Obviously if they're marketing a superior bearing they're going to make sure theirs pass the most stringent inspections, regardless if they "get them from the same Chinese factory as everyone else". No experience or affiliation either way, just raising the question.
  7. How much did a lightning rod cost in 1985?
  8. Whew, I would have been awfully tempted to load up and resell on ebay.
  9. Lol! Someone has been typing on a Mac. Mine does that every single time.
  10. The only advice I have would be: ask these questions on the Tackle Tour forums as well- they're a lot more into JDM than Bass Resource.
  11. I keep them in a Plano 3601. Never had them move compartments yet. I cut a bit out of the original pack with the description, size, and brand/model number and put in the bottom of each slot.
  12. I've seen ads for it- I may have to try sometime.
  13. Great news. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  14. This for sure. My wife and I agreed when we got married to be as honest as possible. If she says go, I go. And if she's at all reluctant about me going, I stay.
  15. Sounds to me like probably the most versatile rig you can get. You should be good for any lure pretty much, treble hooked lures and cranks you should turn the drag down a goodish bit, but other than that sounds like you're good to go.
  16. I just got myself a new setup for throwing finesse jigs (among other finesse baits)- a ML XF Spinning rod and 2500 size reel, with 6 lb. P-Line Fluoroclear. I can get plenty of casting distance, the line is limp and manageable, and the rod is sensitive but has enough backbone to work a larger fish out.
  17. I love this.
  18. Great write-up, really enjoyed reading it!
  19. Cool! I saw Wolf Creek and immediately recognized it, one of my co-workers did an internship at the plant there.
  20. Add me. It's a relief to get away from something constantly playing or people talking.
  21. Impressed. I use Mac OS or Linux on my personal machines so I'm avoiding Windows. I use 7 at work, and it is a fine system, but I'm not a fan of 8 or 10.
  22. Do you mean greater than 1 ft or less than?
  23. Does straight fluorocarbon have enough shock absorption for larger baits?
  24. Lol sounds good. That enthusiasm tho. Ebay is a great place for reels and I've had some success there with rods as well. Average price tends to be at least 15% lower than MSRP, often even lower.
  25. I thought you bought it online? That's still way too much, even for 2 reels and a rod, to be honest.
