  1. That list is a joke. They put the Saint Lawrence River of New York over the Rodman Reservoir, Stick Marsh, Lake Kingsley, Kenyan Lake, Lake Okeechobee, and other well known trophy bass fisheries in Florida? Earlier this year a man caught a 15 pound, 13 ounce largemouth bass out of Orange Lake in Florida and hundreds of 8 pound or better bass get caught every year in Florida. I doubt you will see that type of fishing from the Saint Lawrence River! I bet there are dozens of ponds and lakes in Central/North Florida that has better trophy bass fishing than the Saint Lawrence river has. Florida does not have smallmouth bass but we do have peacock bass which are far more beautiful and pound for pound more powerful fish than a smallmouth bass. The Everglades is well known for +100 bass days (some people have had +200 bass days) so the Saint Lawrence does not compare with numbers of bass caught in 1 day of fishing either.
  2. Same applies to the information on Internet forums. The excuse they give is they have to pay the bills. Anyone with decent bass fishing skill knows most of the tackle being hyped up is because companies pay the promoters to do so. Time on the water is worth much more than what you read or what you watch online.
  3. Welcome to the forum
  4. My past couple fishing trips can be summed up by the following song; Queen ''We are the Champions" Been catching lots of quality fish but it has not been easy. I have to work hard for the bite and deal with +90 degree heat, +80% humidity, heavy rain, and very little wind which makes the heat feel more intense but it is worth it when you are catching good fish. I barely see anyone bass fishing compared to a couple months ago when the weather was cooler. Looks like only the hardcore bassers are fishing during this hot Summer.
  5. Thank you for posting the article. That muskie was a giant measuring 61.5 inches and easily over 60 pounds.
  6. Congratulations on your new personal best bass
  7. Congratulations on your new personal best bass
  8. Looks like a fun toy but I will pass. Never needed the newer electronics to locate bass and doubt I will need one of these devices in the future.
  9. Welcome to the forum
  10. Berkley Trilene Big Game monofilament line
  11. I saw this on another forum as well. Sink rate is 1400fps. Act now and get the limited edition autographed by the snagmaster himself! LOL
  12. I agree with you 100%. Not many people would agree but most would agree that bass are most vulnerable to being caught when spawning. For a lot of people it is the only way they can catch a bass over 8 pounds.
  13. A lot of places do not allow bed fishing and it is easy to see why. Bass are much easier to catch off a bed compared to non spawning bass.
  14. There are many lifetime natural bodybuilders but they are overshadowed by the steroid abusers. A FFMI of 22-25 is achievable naturally by someone with good genetics that knows how to workout and puts in the time needed. Even those with bad muscle building genetics can achieve a respectable physique if they are willing to put in the time for +10 years. Sadly steroid abuse is extremely common these days since most people want instant results and will gladly cheat. Reminds me of the instaposers who post pics of themselves but not pics of them lifting heavy weights. All show but no real strength for such big muscles.
  15. Manabu Kurita caught his 22 pound, 5 ounce bass with live bait which is 100% legal in the area he was fishing. He also has an impressive resume of trophy bass he caught on artificial lures. As far as I am concerned his catch is the most legit +22 pound largemouth bass caught this century so far.
  16. Well said!
  17. Cycling has many cheaters but not as many as bodybuilding (not a sport but they still abuse steroids), powerlifting, and weight lifting. I would say bodybuilding attracts the biggest cheaters I have met in my life. A man that has to take illegal performance enhancing drugs to compare or beat a natural athlete has no honor just like most bass fishermen agree illegally snagging a big bass deserves no recognition. LOL!
  18. I am not surprised he got caught snagging bass. Lots of California trophy bass fishermen have caught their best catches by snagging, using live trout, fishing off limits water. Now he is in the same group as Lance Armstrong, steroid abusers, and other people that cheat to win.
  19. I am willing to spend whatever is necessary for me to be comfortable while fishing which means I will gladly spend +$100 on a pair of shoes. Same applies to fishing gear. I agree with you 100%. Your feet are much more important than fishing gear so it would be wise to invest in a quality pair of shoes.
  20. Appearances means nothing to me if the shoes are not good for the sports I practice. I have been a long distance runner for well over a decade and I can tell you from personal experience (not something I read online) that a good pair of running shoes is worth every penny. You cannot compare some ordinary cheap shoes to running shoes that where Engineered specifically for long distance running. Anyone that has ran a full marathon knows this and I do not expect sedentary people to fully understand why runners spend +$100 for a pair of running shoes.
  21. It is ironic that many bass fishermen spend $300 or more on a rod and reel yet will not spend $100 on a pair of quality shoes. Any athletic person benefits from quality running shoes or other sport specific shoe.
  22. Welcome to the forum I fished for redeye bass a couple times on vacation. They are a very unique fish that live in beautiful areas. Looking towards to hearing more about your redeye bass catches.
  23. If you want to play the game during the Summer you have to be able to take the heat. This applies to any outdoor sport. You can fish at night to avoid the sun but if you are afraid of overgrown lizards and other animals then maybe night bass fishing in the South is not for you. With that said today was a very hot day with temperatures in the mid 90's and a heat index over 105. There was no wind and there was +80% humidity so it felt like a sauna. I took the heat and I am glad that I did since I caught both quality and quantity. Beats being at home!
  24. That bass most likely became turtle food.
