  1. For solid body frogs my hookup ratio is better than hollow belly frogs. I make sure to use the sharpest hooks I can find.

  4. Looks like a good place to fish with a hollow belly frog.
  5. Do research and find when the big schools of baitfish are in the place you want to fish. Every part of the state is a little different but you should be able to have sharks bite the bait almost anytime of the year. Hardest part about shark fishing is landing them so make sure your tackle is in good condition. I prefer using freshly caught bait that I catch myself but you can also buy frozen bait if you want. Accept the fact that you might have to fish for several days before you catch your first shark from land but it will be worth it when you catch a shark bigger than an average sized person. It will be even more rewarding if you can catch this shark without a fishing guide, at least it is much more rewarding for me.

  7. Congratulations on your new personal best bass.
  8. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new personal best bass.
  9. I enjoy listening to some Classic country songs. The country music back then was much better than the new ''country music'' they are playing the past couple years.
  10. A decent size 4000 spinning reel should be more than enough for most catfish you will encounter. That is the size I use and I have caught flathead, blue, channel, white, and other types of catfish. A 6'0''-7'0'' rod medium heavy to heavy action would be a good choice for a size 4000 spinning reel. 30 pound test braid or 15-20 pound test mono is what I mostly use and will use a stronger line if needed.
  11. I have fished for sharks for over 20 years, it is a fun hobby that is very different from bass fishing. Make sure to bring the proper tackle for shark fishing and take care of the tackle well. You can catch sharks anytime in Florida but there are certain times of the year that are better. I have done best with bait that I catch myself such as jack crevalle. As for spinning tackle I have caught big sharks on spinning tackle, it can be done and lots of people do it.
  12. Nice flathead! They are a fun fish to catch.
  13. Both have their time and place they work best but I prefer fishing with a spinnerbait.
  14. I would say my hookup ratio for largemouth bass fishing with hollow belly frogs is over 90% since I have gotten very comfortable fishing with these lures. For snakeheads my hookup percentage is lower since they have much tougher mouths than bass do but I still catch lots of snakeheads so I would consider my hookup ratio for snakehead fishing good.
  15. Both muskie and pike are in the Esox family and both are very fun to catch but they are nowhere as strong as an equal sized jack crevalle or the other fish I mentioned earlier in this subject. There are many stories of fishermen catching +40 inch muskie on 6-8 pound test line on a normal sized spinning reel, that would be much harder to do on an equal sized inshore gamefish.
  16. The truth is that not every fisherman is able to have patience and fully understand that you have to put in lots of hard work to be good at bass fishing. I have had days I caught trophy bass, days I have caught +30 pound 5 bass limits, days I have caught +100 bass, and also days I catch no bass even though I did my best. You have to be able to accept there will be days you will not catch bass, no matter how good you are.
  17. That Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 4600 should be able to help you catch them just fine. If you want you can get a bigger reel for casting big lures but lots of muskie are caught on regular sized lures on bass gear. I have caught all my muskies on size 4000 spinning reels and never did any of those muskies pull more than 100 feet of line in the longest runs. Muskies are not as powerful as some might think. I use the same reels to fish for snook, tarpon, redfish, jack crevalle, and other fish that are much more powerful than a muskie.
  18. They are fun to catch and like you said will hit many different types of lures. Hardest part is finding them and once you find them you can catch a lot.
  19. Beetle spins are good lures to use when fishing in rivers. They mostly catch small fish but they can also catch big fish.
  20. Nice collection of Heddon tiny torpedos.
  21. Crankbaits are very good lures to use in rivers.
  22. I use a regular bookbag and it does a good job.
  23. Nice smallmouth bass. It should weigh somewhere around 3-4 pounds.
  24. White bass are one of the easiest fish to catch. Hardest part is finding them and when you find them you usually catch a lot of them.
  25. I have a couple lures that I have caught trophy bass on and I do not fish with those lures since I have them in my lure collection at this moment in time.
