  2. Keep fishing a technique long enough and it will eventually become one of your confidence techniques.
  3. I sometimes use a ice rod when fishing for big bass since it's extremely fun to catch bass with light tackle.
  4. A bass that goes belly up in a livewell will most likely die soon, either in the same day or a couple days later(delayed mortality).
  5. That sounds like a good idea but that won't do much to the Oscar population. These fish are everywhere in the Glades and it will take much more than a couple bass fishermen to truly lower their numbers.
  6. Congratulations on your new PB.
  7. There's not much that can be done to remove all the exotic fish from the Everglades.Few bass fisherman in the Everglades are keeping exotics to help thin out the numbers, maybe making a exotic fish tournament with prizes will encourage people to help eradicate these fish.A couple strong confronts may help to greatly reduce the exotic fish population, that's what happened in 2010 when massive amounts of exotics died. The past "winters" we had where much warmer than usual,so these exotic fish are thriving in the warmer water.
  8. You are a experienced bass fisherman so you should know what to do to catch the big bass in the highly pressured waters you fish, but not everyone has your experience.I am sure there are many anglers that fish the same waters you do and haven't caught a single double digit bass, even with a decade's worth of experience. Many of the places I fish have extremely clear water and I do quite well catching big bass from these places so clear water bass fishing is something I am very familiar with.I have put in the time needed to know what the big bass in those places bite, when they bite, depth, and specific location in the body of water, etc. With that said,I am still learning on every single fishing trip I make, and I will never underestimate how smart a double digit bass can be in a highly pressured public body of water. Thank you for posting this.
  9. How big was the bass you photographed with the phone you dropped in the lake?
  10. A person does not have to be a experienced Fisheries Biologist or have +20 years experience in bass fishing to know that bass are capable of learning to avoid certain lures, especially in highly pressured water.Almost anyone can catch a big bass in a well managed private pond, yet most would have difficulty in a highly pressured public pond that also has big bass.
  11. Yes Lionfish fillets are expensive since the meat is extremely delicious. They taste good fried, baked, grilled, and I am sure lionfish taste good cooked in other ways.
  12. Do you have any Muskie Mounts? If you do please post pictures.
  13. Been wanting to eat some Loinfish Ceviche for the past couple days.Might go diving soon and get me a couple of them.
  14. Braid is good to use for frog fishing and fishing soft plastics in areas with heavy aquatic vegetation, but mono is better to use in areas where there are alot of rocks since mono is much more abrasion resistant than braid near rocks, concrete structures, etc.
  15. The President is a very good spinning reel, but I prefer the Shimano Spirex. My oldest Spirex is +20 years old and has helped me catch my top 3 biggest bass to date, lots of offshore fish(dolphin, kingfish, mackerel, snapper, etc), and even some sharks. It's definetly worth every single penny,at least for me.
  16. I prefer using a stout heavy action rod for my frog fishing/fishing heavy aquatic vegetation and have landed many +8 pound bass this way.
  17. It would be best to get a replica of the bass.
  18. Nice
  19. Nice Fox pictures.
  20. Welcome
  21. Might go to the Glades in a couple weeks if the water level keeps dropping.
  22. Yes I have experienced many of those in my life. The water level is dropping good in the glades now,so I might have to make a little trip over there for another +100 bass day. Come to the Everglades this April and you will probably get tired from catching so many bass. The water level is low now and the fishing is getting hot. Nice catches.
