  1. There is only one, its on southern end of Woolridge Road bridge. Its opposite end of Lake as Brandermill. Electric only, no dock just little dirt parking lot dirt launch area.
  2. my neighborhood ponds have a bunch out by Woodlake, I'll PM you name.
  3. 1. Yes 2. Yes, and its already being done online. (https://www.hlrbo.com is a daily hunting land rental site, I am looking for the fishing website for daily rentals) 3. Per trip 4. Yes Good luck
  4. So I found out...whats funny is Youtube is full of people with side mounted on kayak but not one I've seen said..."hey, it doesn't work".
  5. Gallon ziplock bags with plastic inside bags baits came in. I really don'y have a lot, so I have the following galloon bags: Worms Creature baits Swim baits Tubes & misc
  6. Swift Creek Reservoir has tons of Hydrilla all over and lilly pads in its coves, western most cove gets tons of lilly pads. Its electric only. There is only one public access point and its close two two coves I fish a lot.
  7. Drove to Peaks of Otters today looking for open water to flyfish. There was some moving water in center of streams but the pools and any still water was frozen. Tried fishing but line kept getting swept into ice edges causing it to snag, still was fun to get some casts in with the Tenkara rod on small mountain streams. Also water was very low all over.
  8. Very cool, thanks for recap.
  9. I really like his shows, interesting take on flouro, I wonder if color matters. I used to get frustrated by how long pitching took to get bites until watching his shows, in several of his shows he was averaging one every 27-30 casts, this has taught me to be more patience and persevere.
  10. For punching and flippin hooks (using snell knot) I will be using the following along with tungston weights and will try pegging and unpegged. 3/0 Mustad Grip-Pin-Max G34131NP-BN 5/0 Strike King Hack Attack Flippin Hook 5/0 Owner 4x Jungle Flippin’ Hook 7/0 Trokar Flippin Hook And be patient, I was watching several guys youtube channels and they were averaging one fish every 27 flip/pitches, this was the average over 4 - 8 hrs. They went some stretches with no fish for very long time.
  11. I am pretty new to punching matts, only did it a few times last year but I had a big productive couple hours punching matts along bank mid-day during hottest time of year using a Rage Tail. For this year I bought weights up to 2oz to start really punching the thickest of the thickest.
  12. Due to weight of them in kayak, I only have one. It is used for terminal tackle and very nice. Worth the money due to size, compartments and quality, but again they are heavy so I won't be adding more in yak.
  13. I wear a Eyson Slim Inflatable PFD. It was $64, but very comfortable and cool on these hot humid southern summer days. Being unobtrusive I really forget it is there.
  14. Like you I only use Z-Man and while water has been is 30's to 40's, the ned rig and jigging blade bait is only thing working. I haven't tried Berkeley but started superglueing worms to jig and they last way way longer than not superglued.
  15. So I've learned..LOL. I have power pole on stern so I will look at bow mount.
  16. My first custom was built for chatter/spinnerbaits. I chose this use because it was my least productive, I had no confidence in vibrating baits even though I knew how good they could be. since receiving rod these are now one of my favorite and productive techniques. I am having second built and like you having trouble deciding on use. I asked builder for help and he asked very good question, "If you were fishing a one day tournament on your local lake and had to fish the same way all day long, what wold it be?" The answer immediately popped into my head and this will now dictate build. I think sometimes we over think things but above question for me made decision easy.
  17. A-Jay, thanks for posting, attitudes about fishing have changed since I was young. I think most fisherman are sportsman and want to preserve our sport and be good be stewards of the fisheries. A really good book that details the difficulties and traits of large bass is "In Pursuit of Giant Bass". In it the author makes the case that bass that grow to trophy size are different in habits and personality that most other bass. For bass its a eat or be eaten world and to survive years takes special talents not seen in the majority. I don't eat bass but when we flyfish, we harvest one each for dinner that night and release rest. Whether it be bass, trout, pickerel or pan fish I always try to return quickly and carefully. A floating fish is a very sad sight.
  18. Hi, I know the Hobie PA12 wasn't made for trolling motor, but I made a motor mount for a Watersnake T24 utilizing the back built in rod holders that are behind the seat. I originally had the motor in the mirage drive hole, which worked well, but did not like not have use of Mirage 180. However, with the trolling motor mounted on the side behind the seat the thing tracks horribly, so bad that yesterday I just used the Mirage drive. To get straight I almost had motor blades at 90* angle to kayak. I have a power pole knock-off on rear so cannot place there. Yesterday was very very windy here and I couldn't use trolling motor but it tracked great with peddle and rudder. Any ideas why this could be happening or what I am doing wrong?
  19. Good idea, I use a hitch extender and put PA12 in rear of Jeep Grand Cherokee. I thought about carrying on top of Jeep but at my age no way do I want to deal with that.
  20. I test drove the Titan 10.5 and the PA 12 and bought the PA12. It was a very tough decision but ultimately it came down to several factors. A couple points were the larger cargo area of a 12' was a plus, also the area in front of you is much bigger on the PA12 and the Titan area's seemed cramped. The Mirage 180 was huge factor for me, I like having fins lay flat against hull when going extermely shallow or over a log or something, plus the mirage is so effortless. I can peddle all day and with great seat never cramped or felt uncomfortable. I bought mine last summer and haven't had any problenms with Mirage drive and I and not easy on gear. The other thing I like about Hobie was its width, weight and stability. However, like mentioned earlier I would be very careful to car top this beast.
  21. No, I am average weekender guy at best, in a kayak. And no, I don't need a rod this much but it is worth it to me.
  22. Tyler, I had a full custom single hook rod built in early summer. Builder and I discussed my needs and every component. Final cost was $453 and was worth every penny and much more, it was built on a PointBlack PB761MF blank that is great. It was built for my style, presentations and water. When I look at the price of high end G. Loomis, Daiwa and Megabass rods I think I got a bargain. BTW, I put no restriction on cost so you definitely get done much cheaper with still ggreat quality.
  23. You won't go wrong with Dobyns.
  24. I agree 110%. Not only was I a Cub/Boy Scout as kid but my I was BSA leader thru my son getting Eagle. During this time I spent 7 years with a wilderness search & rescue group that was always used knots for simple things to verticle needs. Point is I am very comfortable with knots as I and others had to trust my knots. However, the FG I just can't seem to get down. I suppose if I spent the time I could but there are other knots out there that for an inshore fisherman work fine.
  25. Welcome.....
