  1. I miss wrote, I actually have the 735C not the 734C, oops. the 735C has a big backbone to get fish out of vegetation.
  2. I have the 734C med-heavy, extra fast, with 40lb braid I use it for frogs and jigs in the thick heavy stuff. i have read Dobyns med-heavy is alot like most others heavy.
  3. I was just surfing this am for one and couldn't find any.
  4. For something different, try an ultralite fly fishing kit to hike in with, try a Tenkara Sato, there is a sale at Tenkara USA, check out videos. Catching a small bass on this is really fun, its very minimialist, easier packable and very very lightweight. I use it for my local ponds but it was made for small streams.
  5. Big congrats on you and your wife. I trust moms doing well? Its a great feeling, puts things in perspective really quick. My daughter is 13. Something special about bond with dad and daughters. I highly recommend reading the book Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters by Meg Meeker. There role dad's play in the life of their daughters can't be minimized.
  6. Three representatives of my Colt military 1911 collection. These don't get shot. Bottom pic is 1917 m1911, middle is rare 1924 military m1911a1 transitional, and top is 1943 m1911a1. This picture is a couple of semi-custom 1911's I shoot regularly, top is government size, bottom is commander size with pre-ban ivory grips.
  7. No doubt. McDonalds has no to negative growth in same store category for awhile. We have an 18 and 13 year old and neither them nor there friends eat fast food or have, Chick fil A and Chipolte are favorites. I think tastes are changing and younger generations are more health conscoius.
  8. It's coming back, they replaced it with value menu which was a failure.
  9. I just got my cart purchased and confirmed, discounts automatically added when I refreshed cart. Keep trying they are probably super busy.
  10. Here in VA jerk baits are my best followed by poppers. Fir Jerkbaits I am getting most hits on Smithwick Ratlin Rogue in Golden Bass and their super Rogue in Clown color, both floating jerks.
  11. Lots of good choices out there. If used mostly for competition 9mm ammo will be cheaper to compete and practice with than .45. I have heard good things about the P226 but never shot it. If you can get to range to try some 9mm and 45's out it may help you decide. Don't limit yourself, keep mind open to different brands. Guns are a bit like rods, can't stop at one:)
  12. Ditto on TW sale, waiting to pull trigger, whats up, is there a discount #?
  13. I have tried it, I think it will be fine, I do have some mepps from my trout days but they need to be thrown out and replaced due to rust/corrision.
  14. Thanks, I just didn't realize how badly I needed one I just bought a stradic ci4 spinner for Orochi finesse rod, haven't received yet, but may look onto bfs for future.
  15. Not to hijack thread, but what is benefit of bfs reel over spinning reel for very lightweight applicarions, like down to 1/16 oz. Also, what exactly does "bfs" stand for, Bait finesse ??? Thanks
  16. Thanks, I did not know this. I made repair but fish may die laughing of my knot before taking a bite.
  17. Great, thank you.
  18. How do you replace hair and silicone strands that came off a lure? I pulled hair off a Blue Fox in-line spinner and a Megabass XPOP Jr. removing a clump of algae. I still have the hair for the Xpop but not the Blue Fox. Both clump of hairs were fastened to top of treble hook. Can I just superglue or tape it on? I just need a non-complicated fix. Thank you.
  19. Dogs are OK reading this forum, when the spouses start reading thats, when most people start to squirm.
  20. Agree with all about getting off bank. I used to have small sea eagle raft for trout fishing and loved it. Looking at replacement, I will be car topping so need very lightweight and mobile. Thinking of a small lightweight canoe, can get one in 30+lb range, or sea eagle fishing raft I can stand in. Chest waders or hip waders could work but not sure how far out I can walk bank and don't want to scare fish fighting through bushes getting to water. Had nice blow up today casting parallel to shore but I jerked too soon. Hope to get out with jigs later this afternoon for couple hours.
  21. Welcome to my nightmare, I had blow-up this morning on a Megabass Xpop Jr. GG Bass right at edge of moss. only action in 90 minutes, I was trying best I could to cast parallel to this stuff. I also used a Strike King Mini-King Spinnerbait, 1/8 oz to no avail. The little spinner got through it OK but eventually got hung up. After awhile I ended up pitching the XPop just beyond moss edge, popping it back several feet then redoing, my hits yesterday and today came at edge of matts/moss. The stuff is thick and all over. Recently had little success with blue fox shallow swimmer in-line spinner 1/8 oz, and floating jerk bait. I need to keep bait on top or forget about it.
  22. Son home from college, Friday is range day, the .45's coming out to play:)
  23. Fishing from shore can be tough, especially when shore is overgrown with weeds and trees. On two of our local ponds it's tough to find a spot where you have decent backswing space to cast. Also, with all the overhangs over waters edge, while great place for fish to hide, is very difficult to get at. My one pond with mostly open areas is very pressured so pickings are slim. I do have muck boots so I can walk a bit out into the water to get out of brush, the muck boots allow me better angles to cast to parallel banks or weed lines and offer betters casting lanes, but not perfect. Backlashes are pretty frequent due to trying to pinpoint backswing between or under/over branches, plus cast lure under branches etc. One miscalculation and you can spend many minutes fixing backlash or getting lures out of trees/bushes. Spinning reel is more forgiving on cast but accuracy really suffers. Fan casting to open water is easier but much less productive. In order to find bigger fish I recently spent several hours trying to cast further back under brush/limbs and get back closer to structure in tight areas. Now that it is November it is easier to fight the branches to get to areas where I can get angles to cast into these areas. While not easy, it's easier than summer with all foliage on bushes. Unfortunately I spent a very significant amount of time untangling backlashes and retrieving lures from bushes/trees because I was trying to be aggressive with my bait placement. I did have a couple blow ups but none landed. Next outing I'll focus solely on jigs and reduce casting/pitching distances to see if this helps. Shallow Jerkbaits parallel to shore do work pretty good but treble hooks are problematic. Rant over.........I think I need a small raft/canoe etc. Thanks
  24. Welcome.....
  25. Now the mastiff and beagle can ride inside........
