  1. I don't need to go to France to know croissants are food. You'll catch fish on it, you got this.
  2. Great tip, Tom. From now on I'm tying a new knot before every trip.
  3. Very true, pouring worms isnt necessarily the best way to get baits in bulk. I'm in a little better situation, as I already have everything but an injector and that mold. I also have tons of worms-like everyone else-that I just won't use. That's where I get 90% of my colors from. I like turning a $1 flea market bag of Culprits into a bag of drop shot worms that would run me $5-6 at BPS.
  4. https://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16789&cat=340&page=1 There's a guy on EBay who makes these. As tempting as they are, I'm putting my money toward the mold.
  5. Id bring a second lock for the way home. I lived in Ecuador for a year, and would be shocked if they didn't open everything,
  6. Those were some tough reels in their day. I had buddies who swore by them, and while they aren't a new Tatula or whatever is the soup of the day around here, they're still a nice reel. You'll certainly miss the thumb bar and instant anti-reverse, but you'll get used to it.
  7. LSU doesn't have the depth in their roster to slug it out with Bama. I don't know if LSU is really that overrated, I don't think too many teams can exploit LSU quite the way Alabama did. I'm not saying LSU should have ever been top 5, because eventually they will need good QB play in order to win big games. At least TCU lost so we don't have to listen to their crying anymore.
  8. Just wind it from one reel to another when you want to switch it out. It puts the old braid on the inside of the spool and the braid that's still good gets used.
  9. It broke my heart, too. My Buckeyes needed UT to lose. That 98 team was loaded.
  10. Had Clint Stoerner not fumbled against Tennessee in 98, my Bucks may have won the NC. That's the year Saban and Michigan St ruined their chances.
  11. I'm a huge Buckeye fan, but I watch and follow all of college football. This was almost as sweet as Matt Jones/Eli Manning in OT way back when.
  12. Agree about casting distance not being a huge consideration. I've outcast my ability to set the hook properly more times than I'm willing to admit.
  13. I have had braid not "bite" into the spool before. Mono backing fixed that issue, and I used a half as much braid.

    Bama

Born and raised in Ohio, go Bucks! Really looking forward to seeing Bama vs LSU this weekend.
  15. I haven't enjoyed a weigh in since Fish Fishburne anyway!
  16. Thanks, good to know. I used to go to shows in Worcester and Springfield when I was younger. I'm out near Athol/Gardner, but in NH.
  17. Haven't been to one of those in years. Which one do you go to? I spend my winter (aside from ice fishing and snowmobiling) making jigs and worms. I've been melting down all my stuff that I'll never use into things I will.
  18. They were the original tube bait that started it all. I still have a few here and there, they're good, I just got away from them.
  19. Thank you, sir! I've been looking for a narrower/thinner 3.5-4" tube ever since Luck E Strike discontinued the G4 Gamblers.
  20. Shane I like your thought process.
  21. Agreed. Also, I find that a spinning outfit is less tiring (I think it uses larger muscles-forearms vs wrist) for bottom presentations. Hey, I love my bait casters too, and in my younger days I saw them as manlier, but I like to work smarter, not harder.
  22. I know, and I hear you. I have owned and trailered eight boats of my own/my father's when I was younger. This one Tracker Pro Team is just not that easy. Our ramps here in NH typically suck, 9/10 are dirt, and have been rutted out by guys who don't have the sense to put their truck in 4WD low, but rather spin their tires like idiots...toss in current and wind and you'd need one Hell of a skilled caveman to drive on in one shot.
  23. I love my boat. Long story short it has a tiller mount Minnkota up front, a 25 Merc tiller out back w/electric start. There's no middle seat, the front and back "decks" are level with the front and rear seats-and both "decks" lift up to become storage. You're more than welcome to swing up here during the spring and toss some jerkbaits with me. Also, like Turtle says, loading and unloading is important. My big aluminum boat can be a bear to get lined up, especially when it's windy. Usually I just manhandle it after I pull it out of the water, but I'm 38 now and doubt that it's a good idea long term for my back.
  24. That's funny, WPC, my "bass boat" is a 14' V hull aluminum boat. I also tricked it out for bass fishing. My big aluminum bass boat didn't see water this year, will probably try to sell it next spring....point is, my 14 is almost as fish able as my bigger boat, far easier to trailer(small pond ramps in NH are garbage) and can be pulled by a small pickup or even my gf's Forester.
