  1. This is the way to do it. Great post.
  2. And other than one bought title, when have the celtics done anything since the mid 80's? I still call that team the TimberSonics.
  3. I think you'll like it, I actually prefer the 4" to the 5 all year long.
  4. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. It sounds as though you come from a wonderful family. Stay in school. I was a HS teacher/football coach for 15 years-when people take time off, they have trouble going back.In fact, they usually don't go back. Play lax, become a part of that. Cross off some gen eds, get acclimated. The support and connections you will get through being on that team will help get you through.
  5. I once took a Carolina rig sinker to the skull in my 10'. Funny now, not fun then.
  6. Catt, I'm guessing that thing is pretty quick and amazing on gas.
  7. I also rarely use my Leatherman. Back when I wore Carhartts I always had it on my side pocket. Then I got a few pairs of cheap pliers so I didn't drop my Leatherman in the water-happened to my brother in law. I keep it in my boat for emergencies.
  8. Line diameter is huge, when I fish jerkbaits during ice-out it makes a difference to go from 8-10lb test.
  9. What I wouldn't give for a plate of those walleye and perch.
  10. I wipe the cork down once or twice a year with a heavy duty paper towel (the blue ones in the automotive section) doused with rubbing alcohol. Rods still look great.
  11. 6'' Mann's Jelly Worms, grape. I'm also a big fan of any earthworm color, regardless of brand. I have some old Riverside brown worms that I have done well with. I do tend to stick to a thinner profile worm, I feel like they come through the grass better. Everywhere I fish around here for largemouths has a ton of vegetation.
  12. Another vote for the Buckeye Spot Remover. The only jig head I use that I don't pour myself.
  13. I use Red label for all of my deep water/finesse presentations, Silver Thread copolymer on just about everything else. I use braid for my frog rod and when I fish jigs in the pads. My father uses Trilene XL instead of Silver Thread and it's just a matter of preference. When I take one of his rods with me I notice, but it's still good line.
  14. But a good day to get ready for snow! Closing in on 50 up here. Ice by New Years, I'm sure.
  15. There's also the occasional big bass that you can catch on 4lb line and a 2'' grub. There's a lesson there. I've caught several 12'' and up yellow perch fishing for smallmouths with jerkbaits. You never know.
  16. Which is why I will retire to northern Wisconsin or Minnesota.
  17. I do fish for crappies and yellow perch, near my house there are a few ponds with some absolute monsters-in ponds I fish for bass anyway. I also go after lake trout (along with perch/crappies/bluegills) through the ice. I'd love to fish for walleyes, but there aren't many in NH. I guess a Minnesota vacation is in order,
  18. I've deliberately gotten my trolling motor stuck in the pads to keep me there on several occasions. Sometimes it's all you can do.
  19. 99% of the time I fish with my father or the one fishing buddy I have who is as serious as I am. When we take my friend's boat I always bring food, and he's a bachelor so it's always welcome. He's excited to go with someone who can help load, unload-all the stuff that boat owners do. I have a few friends who are not really into fishing, when I take them I bring my second level rods for them to use. If something breaks, oh well. I'd feel like a jerk if I was frog fishing and they didn't have a rod that could do the job. Nothing worse than a friend who is down to one crappy rod with four hours of fishing left.
  20. I swear by Kano Microil. All of the Kroil products are fantastic, and no, I don't work for them!
  21. I'm the exact opposite. The most interesting NFL event is the draft! I was a grouch for about 48 hours after Sparty beat the Bucks. Then again, I live in Pats land where 90% of fans have zero interest in college football.
  22. YouTube is awesome for fishing shows. It's not quite as infomercial-like, and there's a ton out there.
  23. It's Bama going away. The only team that can beat them is going to be on the outside looking in-Ohio State. would be kinda nice to see Saban get revenge against Stoops for that bowl game debacle a few years back. I also have a feeling that UNC may knock Clemson out. Would love to see what Harbaugh is like today. I hate *ichigan.
  24. I ice fish, snowmobile, and make lures. I may travel to go fishing if we have ice late into spring.
  25. Why do you need so many rods?
