  1. I believe the most recent ones were the Lauda and Monoblock Ito Gambler. They are coming up with a new model called Rhodium, not sure when it will be released.
  2. Daiwa/Megabass followed by Shimano.
  3. Welcome! Out of curiosity, why not the Charles River or the two other ponds? I fished at the Charles River in Boston today and caught 3 largemouth bass on a Vision 110. Two other fishermen caught striped bass as well.
  4. That seller on eBay only has feedback as a buyer/customer, not a single one as a seller. On top of that, it is being stated as an authorized dealer. Seems a bit sketchy to me, but if eBay protects the buyer, might be worth a try.
  5. The one that usually works is FHABAQ214, which is $5 off. I've never seen any other code for a greater discount.
  6. Grew up using my grandfather's 2-piece rods, and I never had any issues with sensitivity or breakage. Ever since I started making my own money, I've purchased 1-piece rods since most high end rods are offered like that, but if I had the choice to, I would buy 2-piece rods. I travel internationally at least once a year, and I would prefer to carry high end rods with me. I just saw that Megabass released a 2-piece Heritage rod, but that's beyond my budget for now...
  7. Went to the usual spot at the Charles River to see if there were any striped bass, but no luck. Tried for largemouth bass as well with jerkbaits, jigs, chatterbaits, but nothing. I will try again at the end of March when the weather settles down a bit.
  8. Fished at my usual spot at the Charles River and caught two stripers and a largemouth bass. Missed two huge stripers and another small one. I used a Megabass Vision 110 and a LC Pointer 100. Not a big fan of the 110's hooks... they got destroyed after one fish.
  9. Fished at the Charles River today for an hour and caught a couple of chunky bass. There were two more people fishing, and we all kept catching a bass every 5 minutes or so. We were using a jerkbait, and you could see some bass chasing what looked to me like shads. One of the biggest ones spitted out a small bluegill.
  10. Does anyone know of any good fishing spot around Beverly, MA? My friend recently moved over there, so he wants to try out bass fishing. We would be fishing from shore, so the smaller the pond or area, the better. Thanks in advance!
  11. Stopped by the Charles River in Boston for almost 2 hours and caught 4 or 5 striped bass, which were all around 1lb, and 1 largemouth bass. They were all caught on a Luckycraft Pointer and Megabass Vision 110. Was hoping to catch a monster striper, but regardless, it was a lot of fun.
  12. I fished at Jamaica Pond yesterday from 11:30AM to 2:30PM. Caught 9 bass, all chunky, and the biggest one weighted 5lb. It seemed like all the big ones decided to bite yesterday.
  13. Stopped by a Cabelas in CT and grabbed a Megabass Vision 110 Jr for $18.99
  14. Went frog fishing at the Charles River yesterday. Ended up with two bass, my first ones of 2017 on a frog and one of them being my PB on a frog.
  15. Went back to the same spot as last time. I used a fluke and a crankbait this time and caught 3 smallies and 3 largies. I also caught a fish I've never seen before. Not sure what it is, but I snagged a couple of them on a jerkbait later on. Another fisherman had a striped bass on his fly rod, so I tried using a jerkbait where the dam was. Surprisingly, I caught 3 stripers. Hopefully, there are bigger ones.
  16. I was there at around 5PM and walked past the bridge on Galen St to go around the area. I was fishing where the dam is.
  17. Tried fishing at a new spot in the Charles River (Watertown area) where I heard some people caught striped bass before. It's definitely not the most comfortable spot to fish, but I still managed to catch a few decent bass using a MB Vision 110. Also caught a few smallies on the Jackall Pompadour Jr.
  18. Went fishing to the Charles River (Waltham area) on Friday, Saturday, and today's afternoon. Caught a few smallies and largies on a Rage Menace, jig, Whopper Plopper, and shakey head. I was surprised to see a bass on a bed today, which was the only fish I managed to catch today.
  19. Fished at the Charles River yesterday in the Waltham area (next to Moody St). Got a small bass, missed a chunky one, and caught 6 pickerels. Not sure why people don't like pickerels, but I had tons of fun yesterday. They were in shallow water, so you could see them attacking the bait (Rage Craw Menace) out of nowhere. It was pretty cool.
  20. I stopped by the Charles River today without expecting to catch any striped bass again, but I started off with a MB Vision 110 anyway. First two casts, and missed two bites. On the third one, I almost lost my rod lol. Caught an 8lb striper. A few casts later, I had a train on my line. It just kept pulling drag, and after a few minutes, I had my PB striper at 14lbs. Managed to catch another decent one before the bite died. My 110 has all its hooks bent now lol
  21. Just left the Brookline Reservoir after fishing for 2 hours. Caught a 4lb on a football jig. Yesterday, I caught two chunkies too. Will try to fish the Charles River tomorrow morning
  22. I meant it was tough for bass fishing lol. I usually catch around 5 bass within an hour at that spot. Yesterday, I fished for 3 hours and only got 2.
  23. Tough day yesterday, but caught two bass, one being close to 3lb. I brought my UL combo just in case, and so glad I did so. I had fun catching bunch of bluegills and even a white perch using a trout magnet.
  24. I will be going to the spot at the Charles River tomorrow if anyone wants to join me
  25. You can park every other block on Beacon St, and the closest spots are on Beacon St & Mass Ave. It's metered parking though.
