  1. I noticed that periodically when you add things to the cart there’s a discount despite no active sales. It’s happened to me with a St. Croix and a Shimano rod. Not complaining I just don’t know why.
  2. I have the rod you speak of and I use it for spinnerbaits mostly and it does awesome for casting into tight spaces along the bank. Use it for chatterbaits too.
  3. I've had both the ghost was more sensitive but the guides on the ghost don't hold up too well against braid. The ceramic guides on the veritas are pretty fragile though.
  4. Good luck with that.
  5. Izorline xxx, strong, good knot strength, and you get over 1000yds for under $20.
  6. I've only used 10lb and less but it wasn't bad. I'm a Izorline XXX guy myself. Similar properties and you get more line for the money.
  7. It was last week. I think you had to access it through the link they emailed in their newsletter. My friend said the same thing then I forwarded him the email and he was able to take advantage of it.
  8. I've fished the 8lb on a wacky rig in some pretty gnarly stuff and I've never broke off. I also used the 4lb for trout fishing in wyoming and it held up perfectly against some pretty big cutthroat!
  9. Took advantage of Kistler's summer sale. Helium 3 w/ Lews TPG. Get to try it out for the first time tomorrow, pretty pumped! Helium 3 7'4 MH/XF Lew's Tournament Pro G 8.3:1 Izorline XXX 15lb
  10. Selling my Micro Magic Pro for $100 ..sorry had to do it lol
  11. Selling a 7'3 MH micro magic pro for $100.
  12. Same here, I just ordered a stradic ci4+ for $170
  13. Already placed an order smh I see shimano is on sale. That stradic ci4+ is calling my name.
  14. Selling a micro magic pro for $100. Otherwise another vote for the tatula
  15. That's just the nature of the beast. My partner and I missed about 30 blow ups this past weekend. When you're fishing slop sometimes the bass just can't key in on it and completely miss or just bump the bait. After I twitch it into an open area I let it sit for a few seconds just incase I have one following it. I also bend the hooks up a slight bit. Not so much that they snag but just enough so they're not flush against the body.
  16. I have three tcs combos and they're my favorite. A few members here did some reviews on them you can find if you look. I personally like the reel seat gives you a lot of contact with the blank. I also like the tapers just make sure you know which one you're getting, they run moderate on most models. I have the 7' jerk/crank, the 7'6 flipping/frog, and the 6'9'APC I use for chatter baits and spinnerbaits. Great deal especially since I got most of my rods on sale for around $95 at redsgear and they MSRP at $150. Like Cgrinder said the only thing I really don't like is the hook keeper as you see in the pic.
  17. I have 4 Helios reels they're awesome. Found one for $130 on the auction site the rest were around 160.
  18. Okuma helios tcs 7'6 Reds Gear also has a $10 coupon for orders over $100. Grand total of $94.99. http://www.redsgear.com/okuma-scott-martin-tournament-concept-casting-rod-7-6-h-tcs-c-761h.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&scid=scplp14066763&gclid=Cj0KEQjwjIy5BRClh8m_9Zu64d8BEiQAtZsQf09yRVgKsFu1HRGm_ukuJKeCA-7QG4tGZaM5C_zDHyoaAjvz8P8HAQ
  19. Much appreciated, thank you! decisions decisions, man that new HP sure is a good looking rod though.
  20. Hey @iabass8, would you care to share your expertise?
  21. Do any of you have an idea how the Dobyns Extreme HP compares to these as far as sensitivity? I hear they're close and the Helium is more of the best bang for your buck type of rod. The aesthetics and warranty are obviously better so I'd stretch my budget a bit and try to get that Dobyns when it was on sale.
  22. I did last night, thanks for the tip! Are their Black Friday deals usually similar to 20%?
  23. We have a sponsor by the name of Delaware Valley Tackle that would take care of any reel maintenance as well as upgrades, custom rods, and other services for a reasonable price.
  24. Got mine for $90. Worth every penny. A quality reel with good components. If you can get it under $100 it's a steal. The only gripe some people have is palming it.
