  1. Guys, I decided to with a Ugly stick. I know, its not amazing but for the price I think those rods are really good. I got a Elite model mod/fast, 7', UL. If it turns out to be a piece of garbage, I will start looking on the Croix direction.
  2. Almost all of those go for more than $100, I could not find the new panfish Gander Mountain and the ultra light model I found was 5' only. Cabelas XML has only one model available and its ML
  3. Small jerkbaits and crankbaits, dropshot flies...
  4. Hey guys, Im looking for a spinning rod that can throw very light lures, most would be around 1/16 but if it could throw a 1/32 that would be awesome. I never heard of a spinning rod that could do that... Anyway, I dont have a lot of money so, it does not have to be excellent quality. Less than $100 is a must, any ideas? best! Oh!! most important, I would like it to be bigger than 6'
  5. It all depends on how much money you can spend on the hobby. I quickly realized that fishing can go as expensive as you want. You get nice rod, a nice reel, another rod, another reel, a bunch of lures, another rod, a boat, you go ice fishing and buy ice fishing rods and lures and shelters... its just infinite. So, $250 does not mean a full tackle box. But its a very good start. I started with lures recently and the biggest mistakes I made were 2: - I bought a bunch of lures to fish clear water but I did not realize that 90% of the places I fish are murky waters. - as Im fishing from the shore, buying lures that can go 30ft deep was not a smart purchase. Try to not make the same mistakes as I made. Buy lures thinking of the place you are going to use them and if you decide not to go the jerkbait rout, you might save a lot of money for cranks, spinners, buzzbaits...
  6. Oh, also, Im fishing for largemouth.
  7. Thanks for the reports guys! helped a lot! best
  8. Hey Tom, Yes Im in the NE but Im mainly fishing ponds. No rivers yet. First because I dont have a boat a second because the closest river to me is the Charles River and its kind of tricky to walk on its shore depending on where you are. So Im basically looking for advice on pond fishing. best
  9. I went with my buddy to Jamaica pond this morning. No bass, but I caught a big brown trout on a jerkbait! Just ate it! Some Rosemary, salt and pepper!
  10. Hey guys, I posted a thread about the most productive time of day for bass fishing. Now I need your advise. I struggle A LOT to catch ANYTHING between 11am and 5pm. I has been over 4 months I've been trying to fish in that time frame with literally ALL the lures and plastics I have. I only fish from the shore and even though sometimes I rig a deep crankbait and cast all the way in the middle of the river (looking for bass that might go deep because of the heat). Of course, Im always looking for structure and those common places that bass like to hang out... but the question remains, what the heck am i doing wrong? I tried everything texas rigged, a bunch of lipless, crankbaits, dropshot, spinners, buzzbaits, chaterbaits and the ocasional jerkbait... nothing works during that time. what to do?
  11. Hello, I was wondering, what time of the day do you guys catch more fish? For me is usually during sunset of the first 2 hours of light. best
  12. Thanks Bill!
  13. where did you get it? can we have a link to check it out? best
