I'm looking at upgrading my 24v Maxxum 70 with a 36v Fortrex 112. I have a 2013 Nitro Z-7. My one concern is about shaft length on a new trolling motor. I've fished with a 45" forever and hate when it pops out in rough conditions on big water. The 52" would be super helpful. Only concern I have is about raising the trolling motor to fish shallow. How do I mount my LiveScope to my shaft so I can raise it without running into tape/tie downs? By running LiveScope on my shaft do I restrict myself for how shallow I can go? Also the Fortrex looks like it takes a hex key not a twist to adjust height? Appreciate any insight y'all have.
Hey i'm 16 years old and starting to more frequently enter competive tournaments. This summer i'm thinking about joining a local b.a.s.s club. I need suggestions on a new punching setup. Alot of the tournaments are on flipping waters. Heavy braid, high gear ratios and broomsticks.... I'm currently looking at the iROD genesis II 7'11" bub's punch rod. Is that too long? I'm about 5'9" 150lbs. I'm wondering if i should step down to the 7'7" or will the 7'11" work? I'll be using 65lb braid and i like the benefits of a moderate/fast action rod because braid has no stretch and i don't want to pop the hook out of fish in mats. Or will the fast action and 7'7" rod be okay
all thoughts appreciated. My price range is that $150 dollar area but i'm kinda flexible bc i work if you have a better suggestion

Dude I live on LG too, Idrc bc I don't ice fish. Funny you said this, I was thinking about it the other day... I wonder if it messes with spawns or maybe it will be good bc they will see less action from ice fisherman
