  1. Hey.... My answer still works... Woop!
  2. I have a Motor Guide wireless. I have to sit to fish due to a bad back. I use the small remote clipped to a string around my neck. My only complaint is I have to use baits that won't sink and get hung as it takes my hand away from the reel to control the boat. The old style wireless foot pedal just had large buttons on it but you had to look down to use it. It wasn't intuitive or by feel. I've never used a cable drive so I have no idea if it would work with a sitting angler very well.
  3. Leave out the F.
  4. You didn't mention throttle cables as you may not have tested them yet. If so search YouTube on throttle cable replacement. Look for part numbers on the cables close to the throttle. The model number gives length and fittings for your application. I had to do mine on a Mercury last year. Make sure the adjuster nuts are in the same position as the cables you take off and you will be good. Look for and grease any fittings around the motor/trim. YouTube how to test if your trailer bearings are good or need to be replaced before you tow it any distance. I ordered extra keys to my 35 year old Mercury on line with the key code as @J Francho says.
  5. Found this site the other day. Now they are a technology company. Maybe they can help you. Don't listen to the haters. America is home to inventors and innovators. There is always a better way. Look at the Whopper Plopper. Everyone thought no new lures could be invented... ha. https://www.wavespinreel.com/
  6. If you are using the weedless variety you might bend the hook slightly more open. If not it will just get snagged more. You also might use the original half a Zinker. I find their texture much softer after use. Maybe the bigger slightly stiffer TRD is not allowing as good a hook set.
  7. I do this with lures all the time... still hoping...
  8. Pictures would be good here too.
  9. This fall I thought it might be interesting to fish with only the craziest bait names. Throw them at me and I'll look them up. Include colors too. An example would be a Berkley Warpig in Purdy Shad color.
  10. I don't fish draw tournaments... yet... but I have put a lot of thought into this question and others. In my mind the best thing to do is think of it as a game within the game. He is going to present you with only certain types of targets. Never try to fish with the same technique that he is using. Use something totally different. He will usually have the first shot at the fish but that doesn't mean you can't clean up after him. Catch the fish he isn't targeting with a totally different technique. When you start beating the boat owners they might just ask you your opinion about something. As I said earlier this is only my opinion. Here is website that might help http://fishingtheback.com
  11. I lost my high school sweetheart and first wife to cancer at the age of 33. The people who meant the most to me where the ones who stood by my side no matter what. The ones I respected the most didn't know what to say or do but they were there for me day and night. Just be there and listen. Check in often. No advice is necessary because none will help. Find healthy ways to honor them. Stay busy. God bless.
  12. Put 'em on a hook under a bobber!
  13. I love JJ's. The clear just adds the garlic scent without changing the color of the bait. I use chartreuse on green pumpkin worm with a chartreuse tail and I swear that tail glows in the dark. I call it "the glow worm". I cannot answer the other questions.
  14. Your tow vehicle will last longer (brakes, transmission, not to mention fuel economy) if you are towing comfortably in it's weght range vs maxing it out.
  15. Yes but that's too long to put on a bumper sticker...
  16. I've been trying the Carolina Rig in my rocky deep lake. I used 50lb braid main line and mono or fluro that is considerably lighter for the leader after the swivel. When I get hung I can break off after the swivel and only loose a hook instead of the whole rig.
  17. Ohh hell. Next you're gonna tell me flourocarbon doesn't stretch and braid doesn't fade... LOL My world is upside down...
  18. This is a treble hooked bait. Wouldn't I want to throw it on mono like crank and lipless baits?
  19. Had a great day yesterday on my home lake. Caught 16 Large Mouth on my Whopper Plopper 90. The seventeenth fish took it and never gave it back. I'm throwing it on 10lb mono. The plopper didn't have a split ring on the front line tie. I can think of three things I can/should do to better prevent this from happening in the future. (FYI I'm using ten pound because the lake I fish is basically a new lake as it filled up a year and a half ago from 20% full to over flowing. New bass fingerlings introduced when it filled. They are just starting to hit 14" and two pounds. ) My drag is very soft on this casting reel. 1) go to 121b line 2) retie after 5 fish (?) 3) put a split ring on the front Which of these should I do? Anything other ideas ? Thanks in advance...
  20. Grumpy Old Men style... dead fish in the back seat!
  21. ...if you are reading every post on this topic...
  22. I found the process fairly painless here in Texas. I bought a boat from a guy who said he had the title. Turns out the title was from the previous owner and he never had it switched to his name. I went to the Texas Parks and Wildlife office (they title boats, motors and trailers) and asked them what I needed to do. They had me attempt to contact the person I bought it from with a certified letter. When it was returned to sender, as we thougt it would be, they issued me a new title for everything. I think there is also a list of stolen boat and motor serial numbers they check against. Have you gone to the TPW office? I had a bill of sale of course.

  25. So why doesn't it come up even when I search Ned Rig Resource? Where do I find it?
