  1. Following up on this....don't you need to qualify from the Costa Series into the FLW? Also one thing I've always wondered...once you make the elites can you drop off, by not earning enough points? What are the specific cutoffs for this? Is it just points, or just over a time period? Is this also why a lot of the Elite guys still fish the Opens?
  2. And that's fair...I didn't say anything bad about them. Its just different strokes for different folks.
  3. the Tackle Warehouse videos on YouTube have been awesome! I'm really interested in the stuff from Lew's, Quantum, Zman, and Strike King. I might get flack for this...but the Savage Gear stuff I can't even take seriously. A FRUCK? C'mon
  4. Check out Queen City Kayak Bass Fishing on Facebook...they run out of charlotte and do Norman, Wylie, Waterree and such.
  5. Broad River that runs from the NC Border down into Columbia is SC's best kept secret. It's got extremely limited access. Reports of 4&5lbers coming out of there are not uncommon.
  6. 4 pack of 1/8oz Scrounger Heads at Walmart for $1.00. 16 heads for $4 ??
  7. What do you want, that they don't have? The Big Rig with a pedal drive would be a $3k boat...the Coosa/Cuba HD's have every possible feature you could need. They at just introduced a Fly-fishing centric boat in the MayFly...do you see any other brands doing that?
  8. My first step which I recently came to....only buy baits from a few manufacturers. As as far as plastics go...is there anything that Zoom or Berkley don't make? Nope...and they are in every single shop/store, so running out isn't a big deal. Limit the colors to the color water you fish...Green Pumpkin, B&B, Junebug, maybe something red? Hardbaits...Strike King makes it all...at reasonable price. I don't need a $20 crankbait, that I probably lose. Hopefully this his method helps me keep $$$ in my wallet and not in my tackle bag.
  9. Just moved from Md to SC and the Walmart have such a better selection of stuff. Lews Rods and Reels?!? (Not the best ones but still). Abu Garcia rods
  10. Upper Potomac in Frederick area. Parts of the upper Patapsco have them as well (Daniels area)
  11. kinda on/off topic... thoughts on Frog Toggs? Does the stuff breathe? looks heavy and non breatheable
  12. This thread is akin to taking a junkie to a 'shooting gallery'
  13. Well they are stiff yes...but I was using Owners (I think) and they had a plastic guard, that never stayed on and became useless. Was always getting snagged on wood and bringing in a ton of vegetation.
  14. Big, big, big fan!!!! Got some on the cheap from Walmart ($3 for 4) and I used them for the first time yesterday. Hooks are sticky sharp...and the metal weedguard stays in place! They also made the weedguard so it can do a full 360 on the hook and not slide or fall like some other brands. Will def make these VMC ones my go to for wacky style.
  15. Bass are predators....if they think they can eat it, they will. You'll have dinks hit baits bigger than they are.
