  1. Thanks for the info guys. I will give them a call first, before ordering anything and will measure the ring ID this weekend.
  2. Hello all, I have 2 wright/mcgill casting rods that have micro guides. both rods have broken guides that i need to repair, but having a hard time telling what size are the guides. measured the closet ajoining guides on the rods with digital mic and listed the results below. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. 1st rod - outer ring is 4.4mm / lenght is 7.25mm 2nd rod - outer ring frame is 5.00mm / lenght is 6.58mm I looked on mudhole, but the just give guides sizes, not exact measurements. thanks
  3. Hello all, I want to put 1 or 2 drains (front&back) in the inside of my BR10e, to make it easier to remove water from inside the boat. I've read that the floor is higher than water line, so sealing should be easy. Would anyone know how thick the floor is, so I can buy the proper thru-hull or bulkhead fitting? I am also considering using a 1" ID size fitting for the drain and using the drain as a through point for a shallow water anchor spike. Anyone ever try or accomplish that on their BR?
  4. Hello all, Going this Saturday to the Nox for the first time, on my buddys boat. we will be on the trolling motor only, as his boat outboard is to big to run there. Was just looking for a few pointers about the lake, not looking for anyone's secret spot. Most likely launching from the Haycock ramp, we think. He has the lake on his mapping chip for his FF and we have the printed out DNRC maps. So we should be able to find any man made structures shown on the maps. How long of a run is it from the haycock ramp to the dam? typically at this time of the year, are they setup on main lake points that can be accessed easier from the Tohickon launch or is it still worth launching from the Haycock ramp and fishing the shallows and working our way back down towards the dam? any tips would be greatly appreciated!
  5. i think i remember seeing a post in here, when someone took a BR apart. If I remember, its stapled together at the seems. I've also read that folks have just fished their own wiring through and around most of the inner parts of the hull. With the self stick auto LED's out now, should be fairly easy once the wiring is run. Post a pic when done, love to see it. Sheldon, Check out the end of the video, "vic" has a umbrella rigged to the seat. He has some great ideas for BR mods, as many of the folks here do!
  6. Hello all, i am going to buy a Harbour freight trailer (4x8 1195lb utility)for my 10e. I was wondering how everyone launches and loads thier boat? Have some ideas, but figured I would ask the folks that are doing it with that type of setup already. Driving a 07 sierra, so I doubt I'll be able to see the little boat/trailer while towing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
  7. Tommy, mind if I ask where you purchased the holders from and what brand/model? I want to install front & back in my BR also, nice job!
  8. Chet- have to agree with Etex, look on the boards and make yourself some kind of rudder. I Have a 54lb TM up front and my optima blue top battery in the back. With just me up front (220lbs) no problems with the rudder, boat tracks dead straight. Without it, almost unfishable. Even with my buddy (240lbs)in the back to even out the weight, I find the boat way to hard to navigate around without the rudder. my 2 cents
  9. I use the right side rod holder for the FF setup. I believe it was a 2" piece of pipe 10" long, welded a washer to top. then bolted a ram mount to it ($30.00 ebay).I mostly leave the setup in the boat all the time and just unscrew the head unit of the FF( helix5 si/di unit) when not using the boat. I also use the hummingbird trolling motor transducer not the stock one that came with the unit. That was a recommendation from the folks on the electronics forum here at B.R.. Some extra wiring in the way sometimes, but totoally portable and can remove at anytime. The trolling motor is a older motor guide Hyper-54lb, with a 45" shaft hope this helps
  10. Welcome TRM, raider looks good and off to a good start with the mods. Have fun.
  11. A buddy and I took the bass raider out to Elkington Mill Pond in Alloway, Friday 3/25. Got on the water around 10am... overcast skies, rained between 12-2 but didn't hurt the bite, water temp was 57-59deg. / air temp 60 - 65 deg. wind 10-15 , water was clear. all fish caught were cookie cutters, 1-2lbs. partner caught 2, 1 on a green pumpkin senko and 1 on a sexy shad SK 1.5 crankbait. I had a better day with 10 bass and 2 toothy critters. 2 bass from a green pumpkin trick worm on a shakey head and all the others caught on a SK 1.5series craw colored crankbait. Surprisingly all my fish where caught off of wood laydowns 1-3ft. from the bank. Fish where holding tight to the wood, but hit that crank hard when it deflected off of the wood. Threw a Kietech swimbait and pitched a creature into the same wood, with no luck. They just wanted that crankbait, especially in that craw color. Question for the group. I'm trying to learn the flipping/pitching technique and was wondering what others from this area use for their jig trailers or soft plastics when flipping? Does a craw soft plastic work well for a trailer or alone? Does "match the hatch" premises still work in this area, even though their aren't any crawfish in the mid-atlantic region? Or do you use a more creature like bait, like the Havoc bug or Berkly Hog? Like I said, really trying to learn here, so any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!
  12. I personally use a 8lb, plastic coated mushroom anchor with 25ft of line for my 10e raider. I drilled/bolted/anchored 2 cleats into each of my seat frames and tie off the anchor to them. Never had a problem with the anchor slipping so far. Google " DIY shallow anchor system" and you will get a lot of ideas of what people have used and how they made their systems. some pretty interesting ideas out there.
  13. It's plexiglass, I believe 3/16 - 1/4" thick
  14. Dave, nice dolly! Going on my list of things to make this spring, floor is at the top of the list though. Taking the raider( aka SS Minnow) out today, for the first time this season, can't wait. Bought a used 54lb TM for the front, need more speed! Lol. Also bought my first FF, hummingbird Helix 5 Si/GPS unit. So mostly a test day than a fishing day. I'll post some pics at the lake with the boat loaded.
