  1. If you use a swim jig, definitely add a paddle tail swimbait trailer if you don't already, it makes a big difference. Your dragging and hopping technique sounds on par, maybe try casting down the shoreline instead of straight out, aim for overhanging trees, rocks, pads, etc. that are near the shoreline. bass'll often be there looking for craws, frogs, and insects so maybe try that if you didn't before.
  2. TOPWATER! Bass around here jump like crazy at night feeding off the surface. You can get some crazy strikes!
  3. Do you do all this carp fishing on the Charles, the Connecticut, or somewhere else?
  4. I've got that same feeling. I have some friends who just bought a nice 30 footer this year. They tell me they caught 37 stripers the last time they went out on the water. I go out with them twice trolling and we don't get a single bite! So hopefully I can get out there with them again and finally hook into one.
  5. agreed. With a shimano you won't be taking a gamble on the quality, especially in that price range.
  6. that's awesome, man! keep expanding your brand!
  7. Wishing you a quick and painless recovery, dude. hang in there!
  8. wow, that's a beautiful old spinnerbait! good find!
  9. wow thanks didn't know that. Maybe I'll see you on the water sometime dude!
  10. nice 'yak! Perhaps look into the "Deeper" portable fish finders if you own a smartphone.
  11. That'd be a great idea. I bet the fishing there is awesome from a boat. The shoreline spot I fish is pretty good, as well, with the dock and a nice dropoff 20 or so feet out. By the way, check out a forum called MA Fishfinder if you get the chance. It's a forum that I'm pretty active on and it's all guys from Massachusetts, mostly eastern. It's a friggin awesome forum. My username is "baystateangler" if you look into it.
  12. Get out nice and early; they'll be shallow and looking for breakfast. Mot of my bass action is in the morning.
  13. ive caught an invisible pike before, if you know what I mean!
  14. you really just have to know how to fish them and you'll start to find some success. Persistence is key!
  15. making sure a rod feels lightweight and well-balanced is extremely important. I learned this when I upgraded from an Ugly Stik to a St. Croix.
  16. I know that feeling, especially because the majority of my fishing is from shore. By the way I know a guy who could use those crankbaits lol
  17. I agree with that, Rob. I've heard of people who have caught 8 pounders there. If you fish near the dock at Noanet there's a good amount of fish to be had. I've never fished Powisset but it was closed to camp the time I tried. I would go a lot more often if I lived closer to it.
  18. Welcome Anthony! You'll probably learn just as much here as from 'ole Glenn's videos, hehe. Enjoy the site!
  19. wow, beautiful rod!
  20. Maybe look into a St. Croix LTB (Legend Tournament Bass) rod and then a Revo series Abu Garcia or a nice Lew's speed spool. No matter what you choose, I would recommend you go to your local fishing gear supplier and actually play around with the rods and reels and get a feel for the quality of them to see how much they suit YOU, no matter what other people have said.
  21. is your issue that the action doesn't look so good or you're getting caught up? and do you fish a worm weightless or with a worm weight?
  22. Thank you for serving our country, Terry. People like you are a true inspiration. Welcome to the forum!
  23. congrats on the job dude!
  24. I saw this video a while ago on another forum. crazy stuff.
