Would a Shimano Bantam MGL with Infinitidrive work well? Forgot that I’m downsizing my setups and selling off about 4 rods so I’m going to have more reels than rods. I’m thinking of running straight 50lb braid for frogging and tying on a mono leader for swim baits .
I’m looking at the Daiwa Tatula SV TW 150 and the Shimano Curado MGL 150 for throwing hollow body frogs and small to medium swimbaits/glide baits in the 1-3oz range…would one be better than the other? Is there another 150 sized reel that would be better than one of these two?
I know the reels usually have some differences between the USDM version and the same model JDM version but what about the rods? Are there differences between the two versions in Megabass, Shimano and Daiwa rods?
I’m trying to pare down my rod collection and save some money in the process. I want a sensitive, versatile MH rod that can be used for multiple techniques. I have a Fury 734c but am wondering if the Cashion Icon 7’4” multipurpose rod would be more sensitive and worth replacing the Dobyns?
Fisherman’s Warehouse has G Ratt overstock glide baits on sale. Basically buy one get one free, Sneaky Pete is normally $38.99 now if you get 2 they are $20 each.
Are these rods any good? I see where Kistler has them on sale for 62% off and I thought it looked like a good deal but then I was like wait a minute…why are they on sale for so cheap? Is it because they’re a crappy rod or just because Kistler runs good sales?
What’s the concensus on this reel!? I know generally Quantum isn’t renowned for quality but this casting reel generally has good reviews on web sites but I wondered if anyone here has personal experience. I found it for a really good deal, $75 but if it’s really not great i won’t waste money.
Awesome deals but in-store only, no shipping available on any of the Shimano stuff at least and the web site says no stores within 100 miles of me have any of them in stock :(.
Like i said, not in the market for another casting reel, just get these ads INCESSANTLY on my Facebook and thought I’d see if anyone has given them a shot even though I figured they were cheap Chinese knockoffs of other reels.
But if you miss out on this deal it takes a LONG time for it to come around again…trust me, that’s what happened to me the last time and I think it was last Fall that they had a deal like this going on where you could stack discounts. It’s never going to be this cheap any time soon 😉
Anyone know of any other places with good deals on the 2020 Vanford’s other than American Legacy Fishing? I know they’re at 25% off but I swear there were some better deals out there I just can’t remember where.
What’s the best cranking reel bang for the buck? I prefer Shimano or Daiwa but wouldn’t turn my nose at a Lews, Abu or Okuma if it’s better suited. I’m looking at a Daiwa Tatula 100 right now in the 6.3:1 ratio.
