  1. Do you think he's found the difference between the two worms in the last 9 years?
  2. probably 95% online. The only stores around here are walmart and an outdoor store that is mostly geared towards panfish, catfish, and walleye. They have one bait caster in store and its a discontinued revo winch. Pretty much the only time I do shop in store is if I'm out of town and I need to stock up a thing or two or forget something or I'm around the scheels close. I get most everything on tackle ware house cheaper
  3. Found a kistler pro series 7’ 6” hf with a lews bb1 for $150.. I have experience with the bb1 but not the kistler pro series.. any opinions?
  4. I guess I was more looking for if you had to choose one not what you are currently doing.. obviously you would pick a lot of both..
  5. Exactly, so you would rather have 2 or 3 rods that could handle a variety of techniques and a lot of tackle rather than a lot of rods each for one technique and not so much tackle?
  6. This is just something that I was thinking about today.. Would you rather have a basic selection of tackle (pretty much all the basics covered but only in a couple sizes and colors) and a lot of technique specific rod and reel combos Or... A lot of tackle (every color and size in everything, jigs, cranks, topwater, plastics, etc.) and just a couple rod and reel combos (say 2 combos, one spinning, one casting)
  7. I would say the reel doesn't matter so much as the rod. If you're just pitching a jig under some docks then don't worry about it, but if you're flipping grass mats and the such, a heavy rod is going to help quite a bit
  8. Yeah I'm in iowa and they freeze over, the top water bite slows way down. So I guess I should have said I can catch them on frogs when ever the water is open
  9. The lake I frequent is incredibly weedy and surrounded by lily pads and sees frogs allllll day. I love to frog fish and caught but pb there on a scum frog, but switched to a spook one morning and killed it
  10. If it were me, I would rather have a clear and a muddy water color of the lucky craft pointer than 1 megabass vision. Of the megabass, lucky craft, rapala, and SK jerkbaits I own, I couldn't point out one brand that has caught more than the other. Honestly, the rapala shadow probably gets the most action
  11. X2 this is my favorite deep crank
  12. This could be me only being 22, but whats the advantage of the pork chunks over something like a netbait paca chunk that I have been using for 5 years or so
  13. The one here had 10 and 12 pound but that's it. Got the 5 for 10 tackle boxes.. don't really need them but I guess it justifies buying more baits to fill them up
  14. Anyone else go to BPS? Spinner baits were gone about a half hour after open, ended up getting the last 15. Pretty good deal on Livingston cranks too
  15. Gama EWG for just about everything. Got a few packs of berkely fusion hooks (3/0 EWG, dropshot, flipping, and swimbait) I am going to try out this year
  16. This year it is funding my way to the FLW college open. And my crankbait box is looking a little empty
  17. Im not sure what everyone else has found but really in ponds, I can catch them on top water year round. They don't seem to conform to the natural seasonal patterns as much as lake bass
  18. I think the frog is my favorite slimy or weedy pond lure. But I understand your frustration, the pond on my parents land is just like the slime you described, I threw a fluke in it for a year and now am just tired of them
  19. Never even heard of these, I'm from Ames area and fishing is rough here, might have to check these out
  20. From my experience renting a boat you can get a guide with a nice boat, that knows the spots, fish, what lures to through (usually will provide them), and provides rods and reels (might not be nice but you can bring your own) for about the same price. Did this on Lake fork in texas a couple times, instead of renting a john boat with a 9.9 we got a brand new skeeter with a 250 and gps units plus a driver that knew the lake for the same price. Did tip him so it came out to a little more but well worth it
  21. Everything is a money grab
  22. What companies use the same blanks?
  23. They all own a share of the company I think but hats off to them for making a ton of money doing their stuff. Jon B. used to be a shimano guy and also switched, he’s about the only one of the googans who’s videos are okay
  24. They have rods up around the $200 price point. Not really expensive but not cheap
  25. Yeah I mean the only people I see using them are YouTube guys that are paid and then their followers who are mostly kids. They found a niche I guess. If I had the money I’d love to do a comparison with my irod genesis just because I can’t find an honest review out there.
