The 7' rod of the same power will be a little more powerful than a 6'6" due to the extra length being at the butt end of the rod. The upper section of the blank should be the same. The glx will be lighter, more crisp, and noticeably more sensitive vs a gcx.
You want the '24 model. I held them at the classic expo and Loomis really perked them up. They float in your hand for sure. I call ALF as suggested, but labor day will be the next sale everywhere.
The Steez 'Real Control' rod I ordered from japan Lure Shop showed up yesterday. I ordered it on July 4th, so got here quick via UPS. It is light for a 7-3"H @ 107g's, and I like the taper. I was disappointed in 2 areas...the lack of an exposed blank reel seat like is on the steez bottom contact rod. Also the lack of a butt cap is a head scratcher. It did come with 2 rod socks...a nice full zip, and then a light duty slip on deal.
Definitely interesting. You'll have to report the performance of this rod after some time with it. St Croix went all-in with this series and is offering 17 casting models.
Just FYI, but those DX rods are HVF/glass blend.
My brother went on a business trip to Hong Kong, and hit the tackle shops. He said the rod's he bought showed up today. Shipping was about $70. Only one I'm familiar with is the Daiwa Gekkabijin EX AGS 6'8"L he paid $213 for ($468 @ Digitaka)
I've never fished one. I know a couple of guys that say they are effective, I just wasn't interested when I first saw it. I'd be down to fish it without the large curl tails though. I know you didn't ask for my opinion of the bait 💩
Don't know about gears, but I jacked something up on an OG Scorpion 1000 trying to get my bait free. I don't normally pull like that, but I was in a tournament, and didn't want to ask my boater to motor over to the bank.
