  1. i have to get some more of these for my jerkbaits and smaller cranks
  2. normally carry my kershaw shuffle 2 looking into getting a leatherman multi tool though
  3. Scored these at a local shop yesterday they also had a bunch of xr100s too
  4. 6" robo worm straight tail
  5. hard to argue with the amount of votes for lc, though i also like the daiwa db minnow
  6. any pics of the jigs mike? edit: nevermind i'm an idiot
  7. my shad rap still have it today it just has a couple more marks from some pike
  8. i was undecided about line as well but i figured mono was the best choice for the job since it has some stretch and it's still buoyant enough for wakes and topwater
  9. I did a couple more tests and the results are as follows >Berkley chigger craw 4" yes stood upright nicely >jackall sasuteki craw 5" (would be cut down) yes stood upright nicely > megabass bottle shrimp yes stood upright nicely >net baits mini kickin' b yes stood upright nicely > gamblers ugly otter The two outer appendages stood up nicely but the middle was droopy
  10. i also need to improve on reading structure and choosing a lure for that type of structure.
  11. keitech swing impact fat seems to be the favourite around here. i like the strike king swimming caffeine shad as well as the bass pro version of the keitech since i can't find them locally edit: i also forgot the rage tail menace rigged sideways
  12. any of the ones around here that would close would have a terrible selection anyway so no deals for me. not on anything useful anyway.
  13. 3/4oz red eye shad
  14. I didn't think it was thanks for the quick reply
  15. Those are beauts can you take couple more pics of the spawn gill? I've seen it listed as ghost but I'm not really sure how transparent it is
  16. Don't think I've shown all of this to you guys yet. Still waiting on one more package but it should be here soon
  17. i have 2 of the slow sink and i used them in the fall last year they worked well but when they say slow sink they mean it. they have a nice swimming action haven't caught anything on them yet though i feel like that was me retrieving a little to fast not a slow wind as it should be. also they react very nicely when you twitch the rod tip
  18. i've just never really been a fan of live bait i know it works. there is a friends cottage we go to once a year and all he liikes to do is drift for pike which is just a minnow on a #1 hook and a slip shot. so it's a little boring which i think it's why i like lures so much now
  19. lures in general i was always a live bait guy until last year now i don't think i will go back to live bait
  20. i'm always hesitant to buy firetiger i don;t really have much faith in it though the one time i did throw it it was hit immediately by a 2 pound smallie
  21. i can imagine it would suck i definitely need to pick up a lure retriever before i start throwing them
  22. agreed i am not the type of angler who can fish that slow a jerkbait is about a slow as it gets for me
  23. sad to hear that one bad experience ruined swimbaits for you but i can definitely understand it with the cost of the lures
  24. seems like a good setup i can't wait to start throwing mine next year
  25. frog colour is something i think i have a decent grasp on. for waters with less visibility i would think a black frog is a better idea since it will give the bass a better silhouette to hit, i think a popping frog is also better for waters with less visibility since it would be easier for them to locate. clear waters i would think you match whatever is around, green with a white belly, black bird with a yellow head, brown with a white belly. i don't think shad and bluegill patterns are the best idea for a frog since it's not what you are really trying to impersonate . stick to what you think a frog looks like in the area you're fishing, or find one if you can. i will definitely agree that pad crashers are the softest frogs which does make the hooksets easier. jackall iobee are also very soft. i would also take a look at reaction innovations swamp donkeys i've only heard good things about them.
