I don't know if I would let one fishing session turn me off to any bait, but to each his own, fish whatever makes one happy.

I live in Kansas. If it's not windy something is generally wrong LOL!! In all seriousness I would only fish from a boat in windy conditions if I'm comfortable with the wind speed. I would always wear my pfd and not take any stupid chances. From the bank? I will fish some pretty windy days.

I know it sucks to kill a fish one wants to release back, but it's just a part of fishing. If you catch and kill a fish, take it home, give it to somebody or just let it be, The turtles, birds, and others need to eat too. I don't like the taste of bass generally speaking, so if I can't find someone to give it to, I leave it for nature to take care of.

I'm going to have to try the ones on your list. Thanks for the suggestions, and I agree AB's is my least favorite..

There's a lot to choose from there, what place do you like the best? I've been to Joe's, Gates, and AB's. I've wanted to try Q39 and pretty much every where else LOL!!

While it's fun to fantasize about BF being real, I will never believe it until definitive proof exists, which hasn't even come close to happening at this point.

Try every way you can think of and let the fish tell you how they want it.

Try stepping up your hook size. To my knowledge, I've never bent a 4/0 hook ever, and I land flip almost every fish and hook set hard most every time on T/rigged creature baits, worms, etc. I usually fish my T/rigged stuff on a M/H baitcaster, with 50# braid, and my drag maxed out. If I hook into something big I will generally back the drag down a bit after the hook set. (Big being something over 3.5-4 pounds)
