  2. Picked this up over the weekend, it's my first fiberglass bass boat, took it out once and love it.
  3. Lets make this the NC Rivers thread. I bass fish the Roanoke, Neuse, and Tar. Lets talk about whats working and where you are fishing. Any NC rivers fishermen out there???? I have been catching a few on topwater out in the the main river, not getting anything in the creeks in this hot weather. Lets have some input, Rob
  4. I am using shimano spinning outfits, texas rigged plastices (culprit in red shad, junebug) crankbaits, bandit 200 in firetiger, occasional spinnerbait ( never caught any bass in the rivers except on t-rigged plastics) I am trying to figure out if its my presentation or if I am trolling too close to the structure or what. I have tried everything. Keep the tips coming, something is bound to get the monkey off my back, lol.
  5. I have a Basstracker Pro 16 with a junky little depth finder that don't work most the time. I live in eastern, NC and bass fish alot in the rivers around here, with little success. I see guys catching bass consistently, and nice ones and I am just at my wits end. My best day was 2 fish about 1.5 lb each. I use all the stuff everyone else that catches fish use. It hit me over the weekend that alot of the guys who have success have a little better equipment and always hav a fish finder up front on the deck with them. I am clueless about these things and was wondering how much these help bass fishing in the rivers? does it really spot fish? do you troll around until you see a fish on the screen and cast for him? In need of some info, I have been after them hard for three years now, trying to figure out what the other guys are doing I am not, thanks in advance for any info, Rob
  6. Hey guys anyone do any bass fishing in these ole Southern Rivers? I live in Eastern, NC . I fish the Roanoke, Neuse and Tar rivers and creeks. I would just like to share some techniques, seems these river bass are smaller on average than lake or pond fish, dont know why? Anyway lets her from you river fisherman and what works for you. I am still honing my skills fishing small plastics close to wood. Thanks, Rob
  7. I hear you guys on here and some local guys say "I let the fish tell me what they want", please elaborate. I am a frusterated beginner river bass fisherman. I only have a few Bomber crankbaits and some culprit worms. I usually rotate about two throws of the crankbait for every 20 casts of the t-rigged worm. I know I am missing lots from my arsenal. Need some advice on finding these rascals, and would greatly appreciate a detailed explanation of "I let them tell me what they want" please. In the meantime I will keep after them, thanks for any advice, Rob
  8. Hey guys, had my bass boat two years now and been after these bass in the rivers, Tar, Neuse, Roanoke. Me and my dad have chased them hard and the most we have landed in one outing is two. The tournament guys around here wont tell ya squat. We are using culprit worms and plastic lizards, bomber crankbaits, etc. Is it just way harder to catch bass in river systems than lakes? or are we just not catching on to the methods. we catch only at small creek mouths, never abything up in coves or creeks, just at mouths. I just need enough tips to allow us to catch on and have fun. I know you cant get them all the time, but we dont get them anytime. If you are a pretty abled river bass fisherman and you read this, give me a hand. Thanks guys, Robert
  9. If you go to their website the last catalog you can download is 2006. And it does not appear they have anything new, whats going on? are they in business. I noticed on the box of some I just bought, they were made in 2005. Anyone know the deal?
  10. Hey fellas, just wondering where is the best place to buy online, dont really have a good tackle shop in town. I need mainly a good selection of soft plastics. Who has best service, prices, etc? thanks
  11. Hey guys, yesterday got me a 1996 Bass tracker pro 16, w/ 9.9 Merc. Foot trolling motor, excellent shape. The only problem is the motor, the guy was honest and said it runs fine in his driveway, but when you get in the river and try to go, it bogs down ( like the plug is fowling or oil to rich), so anyone know how I could trouble shoot this. This is my first bass boat and I am excited to get after 'em. Thanks for any help, Rob
