  1. Did it have a redish tint to it?
  2. I agree with Hale. I would also like to add. I feel the most important reading on a fishfinder for bass is depth this include looking for humps and off the bank structure depths.
  3. This is one of the best threads I have seen since joining this forum. It is great to see so many ideas, really makes you think. With that being said I have to agree with Cart. I can picture my 17'6" Nitro cut down to 12' from the back to front and I see no way to make the boat stable enough to stand on the front decking. I can see the boat tiping over forward in my minds eye. However LBH if you can pull off that look (little bass boat look) with stability it will sell I have no doubt.
  4. Very nice Hale. I am partial to the Nitro myself 8-)
  5. In my experience Cart hit the nail on the head. With the trolling motor off on off on along with the drain on the battery you might very well see things not natural with depth finders. They must have a certain amount of volts to function properly.
  6. I think Pro Bass Fishing 2003 is the best I have played since Sierra Trophy Bass 4. Graphics are not so great but you have a lot of lakes and lures. I hate Rapala Pro Fishing you have to catch every fish in a spot just to get to the bass lol. It is pretty though.
  7. I would like to say as I did in Daren's other post. Your lures are beautiful no doubt. KC I dont think what you said was wrong. On forums we all read and intake things different. Any of us that post and even reads any forum need to have tough skin. People may not agree with everything everyone says but at least you said what you feel. That is real cool in my book.
  8. RW, Lower temps and humidity this week in our fine state is a good sign for things to come.
  9. On the Black and White color issue. I know that in the computer graphics world Black is not a color and White is all colors. I still lean towards shades of gray for fish.
  10. I agree with flechero totally. I think Shades of gray.
  11. Just a little link I found: http://www.smalloutboards.com/4Stroke.htm On 2 Stroke vs 4 Stroke engines.
  12. I have to agree with justtrying. They are to nice to fish with however I think you could catch fish with them though
  13. The Lund does not really have a pad does it? I assume NBR that your boat does correct? If so that is 2 different reason boats can porpoise. Once a boat lifts up on the pad and trim is fully extended slowing down can make the boat come off the pad so the boat will do that trying to get more lift. The first boat I owned was fiberglass but did not have a pad and it would porpoise bad but it was 15' with a 135hp Johnson on it. I put one of those hydrofoil things on it and it helped. I think what I am trying to say that with a pad speed and trim would be the major factors. Without a pad the Hydrofoil might just help.
  14. Back in the late 80's I had a 15' Norriscraft fishing boat and a 1975 model Jeep CJ5. My fishing partner and were in a club at the time of about 50 people. We were launching my boat for one of our tournamants. I was in the boat and my patner was doing the backing. He proceeded to back the boat to the water and I floated away after starting the big engine. Now the fun starts. The 1975 model Jeep was a 3 speed and reverse is where 1st is on a 4 speed. So I look up and I hear the sound of a reving enging as one would do on a fairly steep ramp before releaasing the clutch. Then the culch was released. The Jeep was in reverse and before he could hit the break water had rushed into the Jeep so bad (since the sides and back were rolled up) that he was completely soaked from head to toe. Everyone in the club laughed at him for months to come. The good news is the jeep had only outdoor type carpet in it so no damage was done to the vehicle. But the look on my partners face was priceless.
  15. If that is the case some one should tell OMC/Evinrude/E-TEC division :-) They have spent a TON of cash developing that 2 stroke. Like you said and Mercury with the Opti-Max. http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/ It will be many years before that can happen totally.
