  1. ....here is my converted binder, sans sleeves & metal rings
  2. I got a smaller version that I carry in my large tackle bag on the boat. I removed the sleeves and like the origional plastics packaging for all the above stated reasons. I'll load several bags of whatever I'm throwing along with hooks, weights, clippers, pliers, spike-it, yum scent, scales and a smalll towel....and my cell phone. When I get to my spot I throw it up on the front deck and go fishing.
  3. I'd be willing to bet $100 to a bag of donuts that everybody here has been in the same situation more than once. Some of us are so set in our ways that we'll never change. I saw a some guy on Bassmasters this past spring arguing with himself "fish shallow, NO fish deep." LOL Decisions decisions
  4. I gotta get on board with this. Beautiful coloration on that bass. Healthy looking critter too!
  5. Man you gotta get some scales! The diigital ones are relatively inexpensive and you can check them for accuracy every so often against a barbell or some other known weight. Awesome fish btw! Landing a giant is a clear testament for attention to detail in regards to tackle integrity. Good line, knot strength, sharp hooks and proper drag setting make it all possible. Well done.
  6. Not a problem ....and thanks to everyone for the welcome!
  7. Ok, I just checked out a u tube of this guy catching some good summer time fish on Harris. His best pattern was fan casting grass flats in 8-12' and stroking a big worm thru that stuff. Sounds like alotta fun to me. From everything I've read, Harris is a fertile lake with plenty of fatties.
  8. Man am I jealous. You guys up that way have a handful of top notch bass lakes to choose from. I'm down here close to Norman. Never been to Harris.
  9. What lake do you do most of your fishing in?
  10. Me and my hard head For the last couple of weeks I've been doing pretty good, worm fishing my milk run of brushpiles in the broiling sun. But today we had NE winds 5-10 and clouds. It felt great but my brush pile fish were gone. Did I try anything else? No, I forced it on 'em. 2 fish and a thousand casts. Whatta clown.
  11. Texas rig w/3.0 Gama EWG and Zoom plastics in Green Pumpkin. Worms, Lizzards, Craws. 3/16 oz red bullet unless its super windy.
  12. Big fat bass in Davidson Lake. My pb came outta there in '98. We have been catching alotta spots in there the last few years, a few 3-4 pounders too. But it does not seem to have had a negative affect on the largemouth....yet. As for Norman, almost 95% spots nowadays. Peace
  13. Good job Benny For those that are not familiar with what we have been dealing with here in NC.....hot, very hot and dry. Stream flows and lake levels are down. Nighttime fishing is the norm for some, but for those of us who are willing to brave the heat, the big one's will bite. Deep brush piles are working for me right now along with the Texas rigged Zoom plastics. I'll be out there at first light tomorrow!
  14. Did you ever happen to fish little Davidson Lake right there off Transco Rd? It's separated from Lake Norman by I-77.
  15. Mooresville, about 25 miles north of Charlotte near Lake Norman
  16. Been reading for a while, now it's time for posting. I live in the western piedmont region of NC. 56 years old, Marine Corps veteran, now retired from city water dept. Doin' some carpentry for cash, growing tomatoes and sticking as many bass as I can. I love fishing and been doing it for as long as I can recall. How yall doin?
