  3. another "smallish" plastic that works amazingly well, catches the big ones too. the lizard works year round for me.
  4. Give the Zoom Shakey Tail a try. It is a skinny worm that has an exagerated curly tail. Doesn't look like much on the hook but has worked well for me, on my home waters, for both LM and spots.
  5. nailed it
  6. Agreed. btw, I was watching a salt water show a while back (dont recall which one) and I'm thinking his daughter was on there? Another show I saw yesterday had Flip Pallot from the old Walker Cay Chronicles.
  7. that is so cool!
  8. the uv protection aint bad either
  9. Tim does a darn good job, the show is well produced too. edit: while I'm at it, I'd like to give a shout out to BASS live streaming tournament action. it doesn't get any better.
  10. dont forget to include core strength training (low back/abs) into your routine. a strong core will better support your spine. alot of people hate it but it aint so bad once you get used to it. stay committed!
  11. Glad you brought that up. I am a retired water works guy. I served as the operations supervisor in charge of drinking water treatment facilities during my last 15 years. One of our last NC regional conferences dealt with this very subject. That was over 5 years ago though. Things have changed since then I'm sure. We must identify the threat, develop a method of testing, then a method of removal (including source identification/elimination) within the drinking water/waste treatment industry nation wide. These methods are also subject to issues such as cost effectiveness and political influence.
  12. you should probably go play the power ball while you're on fire.
  13. it's staggering when you consider the quantities of these chemicals, and drugs that are allowed to be unleashed upon our environment and ourselves, with little regard as to their effects. we always seem to be in damage control mode? i fear that the fish may not be the only ones affected by this. our drinking waters most certainly are as well. thanks for posting this FFF.
  14. He was one of my favorites back in the day. Always had interesting input from his experience as a biologist. The world of bass fishing has lost a good one.
  15. Fishing North Carolina by Mike Marsh i realize this is regionally specific but it is a must read for those of us in and around NC.
  16. sounds good to me. we're gonna be in NYC for some PBR bull riding next weekend.
  17. Welcome Pecan Man! Mooresville, NC in the house
  18. I've already posted one snake tale in another thread on here somewhere. Here's another one. Many moons ago, I was pond fishing one summer afternoon, throwing a tiny torpedo paralell to the bank, always lots of fun. All of a sudden this water snake came busting outta the weeds, mouth open, in hot pursuit of my torpedo. First reaction was to reel faster. The snake kept coming. The faster I cranked, the harder he came. So I did what any red-blooded Marine Corps veteran would do. I dropped my stuff and ran! When I finally did return, the enemy was gone. Lucky for him.
  19. ...i need to add on to my 2016 list
  20. it's a 7" green pumpkin power worm for me
  21. Hope those rivers and reservoirs bounce back big time.
  22. 2015 March-July - Great August-October - meh November-December - Awesome 2016 Plenty of decent lakes within a hours drive, I plan to visit them alot more than I have in the past. My grandson is finally old enough to start fishing, gonna try to bring him along like I did my son. Patience is a virtue.
