  1. got this one at boatcovers.com for around a hundred bucks. they have custom covers for just about anything and the web site was easy to navigate. i added snaps (not shown), super easy.
  2. Craig is a retired paramedic. we all grew up and went to school together, worked and retired from the city. two years ago they found something in his liver. he's fighting the fight, still comes to the gym and walks with us on Wednesdays. darn good guy. i'll stand for him
  3. we're seeing near record high temps here. surface water temps in the mid 60's too. been dry as a bone for about two months now, aside from the 3" we got from Mathew. my home lake is down 5' or more.
  4. i miss my Fish Formula. Crawfish was the best.
  5. amen
  6. I'm calling it a spot
  7. you could total up every one of my fish from the last two trips and it would NOT be 17 lbs : - (
  8. hooked a gar this morning. threw in a t-rig worm after he broke the surface near the boat. it sank a little then stopped. i reeled down, felt him and set pin in him. it stripped off drag and my heart beat was now in my throat. when i finally got a look at the fish and saw what it was, i was sick. i had images of hefty spots, perhaps a nice hybrid. i got a gar as long as my leg. the end
  9. dont do it man
  10. Zoom 5" lizard in gp Zoom u tail worm in june bug
  11. mostly a 3/16 bullet and a 3/0 offset Gamakatsu. but thats just me
  12. depends, i like to drag down to 10' or so, i'll hop it more in deeper water, sometimes a big stroke and watch my line as it sinks. love that
  13. Original in Red Shad, Fire and Ice, Tequila Sunrise and Crawdad
  14. that sequence 3 looks like it could be a booger to get right.
  15. 12 lb Sunline fluoro for t rigs on the bait caster
  16. papajoe, i have been throwing some around the last few weeks. a Storm pre-rigged 3" 1/4 oz chartreuse shad looking pattern. i have caught some spots on them and yesterday i even caught two bruiser crappie. however, i am like you, not sure about the method(s), even with experimentation. i have some in perch and crappie patterns that i want to throw too. hell, i would eat them if i was a fish. i am more than certain we'll get plenty of help right here! edit: thank you AJ git r done
  17. call me old school but i still tie the rapala knot

  20. it will be here before you know it!
  21. good for you brother i was able to retire at 52 after 30 years of service with the city water works. that was almost 6 years ago. i do carpentry work with a friend on the side now. we still hit the gym each morning too. i fish alot too, never get tired of it. fishing is my passion. i dont drink, gamble, hunt, or chase wild women. i fish. glad to hear you plan on doing some kind of work. i believe physical activity is good for the body and soul. git r done
  22. Zoom and Berkley now but down thru the years i've thrown my fair share of Culprit, as well as, some obscure stuff like Renegade worms and Diamond Back lizards. my pb was caught on a Renegade Fall Pumpkin worm. I dont think thery're even around anymore!
  23. i made mention of this in another thread somewhere on here. i have found the bite to be pretty good prior to a tropical storm even when we dont get any rain or "bad stuff". an east wind and clouds seem to trigger something here. but if the wind gets up too much i aint gonna bother.
  24. went out today from around noon til 4:30 or so. surface water temps still in the mid 70's here and I'm still seeing a thermocline on the Garmin. stroked/swam texas rigged worms in gp and june bug. i managed to get 18 spots, mostly dinks. the key was finding them. i would cruise an area looking for activity or bait balls on the sonar and start casting once i found them. today was easy. tomorrow may be totally different.
