i catch fish YEAR ROUND on Zoom lizards in GP with a chartreuse dip. shallow, deep and all areas in between. they offer a 5" lizard that is deadly on Spots and will catch big LM too.
i used to throw those too...especially at night. real thumpers they were. Zoom recently came out with a similar version, the G tail, with an exagerated flapper tail, but minus the snake eyes. these are for the fat girls only!
nice
i've used old window weights before. 3 rigged together with aluminum wire, or even duct tape, can weigh up to 25 lbs. wrap your rope around them and they stow easily in a small johnny.
12 lb test line
3/16 oz bullet weight
3.0 offset worm hook
6" plastic worm or lizard in green pumpkin or june bug
throw out deep, cast down the bank, drag it, hop it, or swim it.
yer welcome
just saw where they've closed several ramps on Wylie due to low water levels. this happened last summer as well but heavy rains in October restored water levels. not so lucky for us this year across the South.
switched to megastrike original a while back and have done well with it. gonna get me some of the crawdad next. fish formula crawdad will probably be my all-time favorite though. my cousin swears by garlic scents and that works for him.
fishermen.....smh
seen them do like that on Norman and Wylie down my way in the winter. but it was the warm discharge creeks that drew the shad in. the bass in there can get real picky. but motor out to the windward shore and you can catch them.
i'd like to mention something else for the OP. i've done good by finding the birds during the winter. tie on a bucktail or a swim bait you can throw. give it a try sometime.
