  2. i think that’s the closed cell foam, gotta be careful where you put that stuff, i’ve seen it expand door and window frames outta plumb. the blue, open cell foam, is more forgiving. just a thought. carry on.

  5. Alabama spots were introduced to my home lake (32,500 acres) years ago and are now the predominant bass in the lake. we still catch a largemouth from time to time but they’re few and far between.

  9. Zoom
  10. i use them ALOT. they’ll catch spots and largemouths, big and small. i prefer to throw them on 12 lb line with a 3/16 bullet and 3.0 offset shank worm hook, when i’m fishing deeper structure and cover (15’ +). perfect for stroking off points, roadbeds, docks, and any other drop off you can find. i like the green pumpkin and june bug hues.
  11. caught 16 spots and 2 largemouths in the little johnny this morning from 6:30 til 10:30. this 20” porker hit a Zoom lizard in 12 fow. dadburnit it’s hot!
  12. most wake boaters and skiers, in general, could care less. the best thing to do is avoid them altogether. go out early, during the week (not weekends), or waters where they’re not allowed, if that is at all possible. i live 5 minutes from the largest lake in my state and it’s a mad house after Memorial Day. i know alot of people who live on the lake and wish they’d outlaw the wake boats altogether due to bank erosion and dock/boat damage concerns. it’s a bad deal for all of us.
  13. killer ?
  14. yep, the old bass pro blue handle hook remover, works like a charm.

  21. one would think it’s the dead of winter
  22. minimum of 20 lbs and 50’ of rope works for the jon boat. deepest i anchor in is about 30’. i keep my anchor in a bucket so i dont get mud in the boat. i wrap the rope around a section of 1 1/2” pvc with caps glued to each end of the pipe just in case it goes overboard. i now have pre-tied loops in my rope for the depth of each brush pile or structure site i usually fish. just drop anchor and slip the loop around a cleat and start casting. best pic i have
  23. dont do the paddle board
  24. the fish will not be affected like the fishermen are during the rain. go get ‘em and avoid the lightning.
