rig a live shiner, pitch it out there, and wait. you’ll find out if the bass are there or not. then you can either, hone your skills, or move on to another body of water.
i’d skip Lake Norman for Lookout Shoals which is just upstream on the Catawba River and 10 minutes off I 40 at exit 138. less boat traffic and better bass fishing imo. be safe brother.
three chubby spots from this morning in the little johnny. these things fight like crazy. caught 16 total. life is good.
(not my best day taking pictures)
i noticed this hitch hiker on the hood of my truck as i was leaving the lake this morning. it also looks like my windshield is cracked, so i went outside to double check it as i was looking at this pic. but it isn’t.
try some Megastrike, my favorite is garlic scent. there is much debate on the effectiveness of scent, and it may not be the answer to your fish catching woes, but it cant hurt to give it a try.
yep, and it’s not only while they’re on the nest. one of my best big fish periods is when the fry move off the nest and into deeper cover. you can catch some goliath sized bass this time of year who have stuffed their bellies with baby bass.....and they’ll puke them up in your boat.
