  4. https://m.bassmaster.com/slideshow/bryan-kerchal-remembered this reminds me of the late Bryan Kerchal, who won the 94 Classic on High Rock Lake by throwing a red shad worm around docks. my hero.
  5. been having some left wrist and forearm pain for the last month or so myself. it does seem to be easing off a bit, but not totally healed. don’t know what caused it either. over use and old age probably, but it’s always something these days. i’ll be 61 in August and still thankful to be in as good a shape as i am.
  6. a nice one from this morning
  7. a country boy can survive ?
  8. i’m usually fishing deeper this time of year, mostly spotted bass, and my favorite worms are the Zoom U Tail and the Zoom Shaky Tail in gp/chartreuse and june bug. they both have great tail action and can be fished in brush, or on open water structures where i do alot of stroking in 15’ fow or deeper. big largemouth will hit them too ?
  9. there you go ?
  10. i left the dock at 6 this morning in the little johnny and caught a dozen before leaving around 10. this is the first largemouth i’ve caught in a few weeks. ain’t she pretty?
  11. me and my cousin caught a few this morning in the little johnny before the heat ran us off the water. he had big fish with a 3.7 spot and i managed to land a 2.8. 14 spots and no largemouth again today.
  12. congrats man ? welcome to the club
  13. i caught my pb spot this morning on a 5” Zoom june bug lizard, off brush in 18 fow. short of my goal of 4 lbs this year, but not by much. she was 20” long and 3.84 lbs. i caught 15 spots in all, but no largemouth today. life is good ?
  14. i did something similar a couple years ago. unhooked everything but the safety chain and backed her down. when i hit the brakes i heard a pop, looked in the rear view and there goes my boat. i hustled down the dock only to watch my boat float by about a foot outta reach. i stripped to my tightie whities and dove in. the water temp was in the mid 60’s and it was still quite a shock. i don’t want to do that again.
  15. almost the same thing happened to my wife about 10 years ago. she then went to school to become a sign language interpreter, something she had always had an interest in. things were tighter for a few years but we made it through. she works for the public school system now and has her summers off....to babysit the grandkids. i hope everything works out for y’all too.
  16. in western NC, the Catawba River basin is experiencing near record flooding after a weekend of 8’-12” rainfall in some areas and widespread 3”+ rainfall overall. Lookout Shoals and Mountain Island are both out of their banks with Lookout Shoals cresting at levels not seen since 1940. this massive effluent will make it’s way southward into the Wateree in SC.
  17. it’s been stormy here since yesterday morning, but i had a decent window of opportunity to get after them this morning. not my best day in the little johnny, but i did get a dozen, with this fatty being the lone largemouth of the creel. life is good.
