  1. good thread. i’ve enjoyed reading every post so far.
  2. i usually carry two or three rods in the little johnny, maybe a couple more in the Javelin. KISS
  3. will do ?
  4. me and my cousin have our own terminology. spotted bass are “spotties” and largemouth are ”silverbacks”. Zoom lizards are “greenies”. Lake Norman is sometimes called “Lake Need-a-bite”. i ain’t gonna say what we call the wake boaters and skiers.
  5. those are usually terminal for me
  6. there are more of us out there than you might think
  7. my favorite was the Shyster
  8. in the little johnny, it’s two rods and a small worm binder with the clasp rings and pages removed. i have around 10 bags of plastics, hooks, bullets, spike it, megastrike, hook out, needle nose pliers, small rapala scale and nail clippers. and my pocket knife. in the Javelin i’ll carry my tackle bag and more rods but i could honestly get by with much less.
  9. corona virus ? you’re welcome
  10. i hate this kinda stuff. ?
  11. i’m no expert but i’ve always saved partial bottles for next year, same goes for the grease.
  12. i’m going back at least 30 years, but we used to use a plastic lizard made by Diamondback. they were about 5” long, and kind of thick in the middle, with a diamond mold on the back of it. my favorite color was a motor oil shade with black specks and a chartreuse tail. anyone else familiar with Diamondback brand lures?
  13. i’d put you up against a lot of other people. that being said, my concern is that they’re taking alot of the “sport” out of it with some of the new sonar capabilities. it’s the thrill of the hunt that drives my passion and i still put more stock in the fisherman rather than the gear.
  14. https://www.boatcover.com/index.php/allboatcovers.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqby20IPc5wIVwZ-zCh11NQ7qEAAYASAAEgIrZ_D_BwE fwiw, i get mine from boatcover.com. i’ve added snaps because my little 14’ johnny is tied to the dock. the cover is actually for a 16’ flat nose jon boat (#1651). i got it longer so it would cover the motor too.
  15. that’s pretty strong blue. but i’m beginning to think that you’re a crazy person. ?
  16. when i was in my early teens me and a friend would get his mom to take us up to the State Park on Lake Norman....and leave us there all day. we’d walk the trails and fish from the banks. in early April they’d close the gates at the spillway and allow the water in Hicks Creek to back up at the swimming area. when that water flowed over the top we’d cast Little Cleo silver spoons across the froth at the bottom and wear out the white bass. that was nearly 50 years ago and those memories still hold true to this day.
  17. it’s 365 acres, separated from Norman by the interstate, connected only by a pair of overflow culverts. it has alot of spots in there now but still has some healthy largemouth. it’s where i keep the little johnny. it’s also where 90% of my fish pics taken. i got a 4 pound spot there last summer.
  18. Davidson, my biggest largemouth on Norman is a little over 5
  19. thank you sir ?
