  1. I would say it's the line but it's hard to be sure. Maybe try a leader with it before replacing it. Usually when people say they are losing fish where they have a hook set and they toss the bait on a jump, the angler has turned the fish/rod over. Instead of the fish being pinned, it's now in a position where it can just pull the hook out with a head shake.
  2. It definetly can be a personal thing. What they put on rods are just a guide line. It all depends on how the rod feels to you. For me, I wouldn't fish most rods that are listed as Fast for crankbaits. Just my personal preference but I do have a few I like for them. One in particular is the St. Croix Mojo Yak Med Fast. This rod is just softer all around. I also have a few Megabass rods that I can use for just about anything. They are listed as Medium Fast to Regular. Just curious, what rod was it?
  3. Owner Ultrahead and a Megabass Okashira Head
  4. KVD Dream Shot, Berkley Flat Worms and OSP Mylar Minnow. This will probably change depending on what they are biting on.
  5. What is it? Looks like a magnum jig stuffed in side of craw tube.
  6. Thought of another one I going to try.... Looks like a promising Ned bait. Rabid Fox Tail.
  7. I really haven't found a creature bait that hasn't worked. I just try to focus on what baits cause more turbulence than others and choose based on how the fish are acting.
  8. Definitely.
  9. It's the same on the BB1 Pro I have. It does a good job of managing casts. I have had no issues with it casting 3/8 to 1/2oz jerkbaits. My thoughts are..... Doyo offers three spool options on this same frame; regular, shallow and super shallow. It looks like they are using the same braking system on all three spools. This doesn't seem to follow suit with every other BFS reel out there. They all have their, somewhat, unique system. So it makes me wonder when casting, let's say, an 1/8oz and below bait, is the advantage in casting a BFS lure in the spool design, the brake design or both?
  10. OK. One more.
  11. Also, here are the brakes. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
  12. This reel has been around for awhile. It's a Doyo Liger 30 with a shallow spool. I am surprised they haven't branded it for Lew's sooner.
  13. In hand it reminds me of a tube craw. Venom makes one that is kind of similar.
  14. You guessed it. The blades I think are gold and pink.
  15. Not much of a secret. I'll post another one later. I do let one slip from time to time but it doesn't help if you can't find the fish or they aren't biting.
  16. They arrived today. I only ordered three. I figured they will be everywhere soon. They look cool and smell odd. We will see how they work out this weekend.
  17. I back my reels and depending on the line, I change it once a year and with Tatsu I have gone up to 4 years, only changing it because it got low. I fish around a ton of rocks and structure so having good FC is almost a must.
  18. In a way, I use all three.... 13lb Sunline Defier for square bills and shallow cranks 14lb Sunline Crank FC for deep diving cranks 10lb Sufix Siege for general purpose cranking 20lb Verivas Dead or Alive Finesse Braid with 8lb FC leader for BFS cranks 6lb Sunline Shooter FC Invisible for BFS Cranks and BFS jerkbaits I never use straight braid. I have lost too many fish and too many lures in structure and wood.
  19. It depends. If everyone is throwing a white or chartreuse base spinnerbait, I go with this guy. I don't know what it is about pink but it catches them.
  20. The Megabass Sleeper Craw. They will arrive Monday. I am also going to use the Geecrack Kemushi. I watched a guy last year just kill it on this bait when I was struggling to get bit on anything.
  21. Zoom 6in Black with a blue tail and Green Pumpkin. And if those aren't working, Junebug with a chartreuse tail.
  22. Dads Ole Tackle Shop and Mike's Reel Repair. If you want Abec 7 Bearings, Boca
  23. Here is the schematic for it..... It's the drag clicker. It's not a total loss if you can't get it fixed but I use a pair of tweezers with a dab of grease (microscopic) on both the hole, spring and pin. The grease will help hold in place. In the pic it looks like the plate on drag star is upside down. Good luck.
  24. I take 5 or 6 setups and two tackle bags. It's too much but there is always something I end up needing.
  25. Shooter Sniper FC, either BMS or Invisible. I have used both regular US Sniper and it's softer than Assisan but I wasn't thrilled with either one. I tend to like Invizx better. The BMS and Invisible versions have been awesome for me though. I like them as well as Tatsu.
