  1. I like the Loomis IMX Pro Deep Flex. The one I have has been the least fatiguing on my hands and wrist. I also just got the Megabass P5 Z-Crank. It's too early to be sure but so far this rod has been great. Light weight, no fatigue, and it works great for 3/8oz square bills and jerkbaits as well.
  2. I keep them in original bags. It seems to keep the scent, color and the overall quality of the bait better.
  3. I notice the same and ordered these on Amazon. They are same, as far as I can tell, as the Ryugi R-Tank. The Ryugi runs $25. I got two from Amazon for $16.
  4. That's the same one I use. Great hook. If you order from a JDM site, they're only about $3 a pack. I also use the #1's as well depending on the size of the bait.
  5. I use the Plano 3700 storage boxes without inserts. I use four of them and fill a BPS tackle bag with the boxes as needed. I can get about 25+ bags of senkos in one box.
  6. I missed the part about light weight baits. I would say no. A 5in Senko, sure. As far as being a long distance caster, maybe with a 1/2oz bait but it's nothing spectacular. Not knocking it. It's still a solid reel.
  7. This is my Megabass Christmas haul this year. I am still waiting on one lure to come in, backordered. My wife and kids helped out but this was mostly me and my gift cards. The sad thing is, this is one box out of four (maybe five). Everything else is non Megabass but I will post pics as I put this stuff away. The sales got me this year.
  8. I use mine for jerkbaits and topwater.
  9. Above your budget but the Dobyns Sierra Ultra-Finesse 700C is a good do it all rod. It would be a good place to start and its a rod that definitely brings in the fish.
  10. BFS crankbaits. When nothing is biting, these things have produced for me.
  11. Frogs, bladed jigs, and spinnerbaits. I tried them off and on but the bites just weren't there for these baits.
  12. Here you go. https://www.omniafishing.com/p/megabass-vision-110-jr-jerkbait?fishing_reports_sort=true&fishing_reports_waterbody https://bait-wrx.com/products/megabass-vision-oneten-jr?variant=42592834027745
  13. Picked this up from a store I never go to with some Christmas cash and a gift card. I am going to replace my old Simms sling pack with it. I don't think I would go out of my way to spend this much on a pack but for $0, I will put it to good use.
  14. I'm going to say no to the spinnerbait. It might be OK but based on the few fish I have caught, the power isn't there. It might just be me. I have it paired with a Conquest 101. I'm still undecided on a senko but it might work. What do you think? (Insert sarcasm here). Seriously though, the tip is still softer than I like for a senko and it loads slow on a hook set. Casting a weightless 5in is easy and it does a fine job.
  15. I'm guessing you mean Dobyns. I only have one to compare to, the 702C Champion XP. It's good rod but the P5s blow it away in just about every category. I would say it's more of a Medium power and kind of soft through out. The Z-crank loads quick but not too quick. The tip is soft but recovers quickly, which is what I like in both a topwater and jerkbait rod. The Dobyns is sort of the opposite of that. I looked at both P5 jerkbait rods and thought one was too short and the other was too stiff but I really have not given them a complete assessment. I also need to spend more time with the Z-Crank. I will say this, the search for my perfect jerkbait rod is over. It throws and works the 110 and jr just the way I want it and it is less fatiguing on my old wrist and hand.
  16. I just used mine for the first time yesterday. I really enjoyed it. It seems to be a pretty universal rod. It could probably handle a 5in senko with an 1/8oz bullet weight but no more and this rod would not be my first choice for that application. I really liked it for poppers (Pop-x), Vision 110jr's, and shallow square bills. I don't see it being a deep crank rod or a light jig rod. I will have to try some soft plastic on it, weather permitting.
  17. "Only in Florida" should be the state slogan. I had family and friends that lived there for years before either passing away or moving. It's has become increasingly crazier over the years.
  18. If you can, always adopt. The shelters here in Indy are over flowing with dogs. We adopted two huskies and they have been fantastic. They are so good, I really don't deserve them. Also don't forget....
  19. It's been awhile but I can remember a foggy day where I almost ran a boat into the bank going 40mph. I was going down the middle of a lake and it was perfectly clear. I turned a sharp corner into some light the fog and before I knew what happened it was like the fog swallowed me whole. I slowed the boat but in this fog just to the right of my turn was a rip rap bank and the rock was the same color as the fog. I couldn't tell the water from the rock. Luckily I saw a big turkey vulture on the bank. I cut the engine and turned sharp, just getting the boat to slow and tap the side of the rock. If not for the vulture, I would have been in some serious trouble. The fog can definitely get you disoriented quickly.
  20. When I buy a new rod my wife tells me.....
  21. At one of my favorite lakes, I always get hung up in the forest below with a lipless. I haven't tried it yet but but I bought some Owner trebles that have offset hooks. They have a 150 degree angle between two of them. I think the idea is, providing you put them on correctly, that the hooks pulls up between the side of the bait and hopefully, making it less snag proof.
  22. Got another one. The Devil Shaker from Valleyhill. It's something totally different. It works but I have only tried it a few times.
  23. I'll ask the same question I asked my fishing buddy who uses Stren 12lb for everything, even on spinning gear..... What would you do if they discontinued your favorite line? He said, and I kid you not, "I'd quit fishing."
  24. Got it last year. My wife wears it all the time as well. Great jacket but it is JDM sized. It blocks wind and is good in the rain. It's a stretch fit and is good in 40-50 degree weather.
  25. I took this masterpiece (Conquest 101 and a Megabass P5 Z-Crank) out for its first run and it was a blast. My wife confiscated this set up for Christmas and I've been wanting to fish it for quite some time. I tried a jerkbait, a shallow crankbait and a topwater popper at my local pond. I caught one on each. This one has that magical feel to it. The reel is amazing but the rod is perfect for 110s and 110jr's.
