  1. It's more like this, some 110s and a few Duo BR Baits and Heads. I got my dog house blanket ready.
  2. Got a weird answer..... 8.x:1 > go with the Metanium. Smoother, bigger handle 7.x:1> Zillion. To me, this a better all purpose reel 6.x:1 > Metanium for cranks. Zillion for everything else In reality, you can't go wrong either way.
  3. I always set my drag by hand based on the pound test I am using. I don't set it any lighter for kayak fishing, although I will loosen it or tighten while fighting a fish if I have to. I never push the drag all the way down. The tightest I set my drag is with braid when I fish heavy vegetation. It almost all the way but not quite.
  4. I get about 7-8 hours but not on days when I am fishing. I am usually up around 4am and get maybe 4 or 5 hours. When my kids were little, I was lucky to get 6 hours. I was working nights, 12 hours a day and worked out 2 hours 6 days a week. I would stay up on my days off. It stunk.
  5. I wear contacts normally but for glasses I go to Costco. You can't beat the price and quality. With our insurance, we are required to go to specific places, like Target and Osip. Target quoted me a pair and with all that was listed above and it was over $500 with insurance. It's a scam to me. I got the same pair at Costco with better lenses for $275 with no insurance.
  6. I'm enjoying the Super Bowl like.......
  7. Megabass OSP Deps Evergreen Lucky Craft Spro Strike King - 6XD only Ninshine
  8. Best spinning reel I have ever used. I like it better than the current Stella.
  9. The Zappu Bow Head has been my favorite so far.
  10. From what I heard, when the mats died down, the oxygen levels changed in the water, which changed the whole eco system of the lake. The wind was so bad the last time I was there, the alarms went off and we had to get off the water. The forecast for Indy was 5mph winds, not 35-50. It was fun while it lasted though. It seemed like every fish was 5lbs+ back in the day.
  11. I have a Lowrance HDS and just installed the XI3 GPS trolling motor on my Hobie PA14. Is it worth hooking it up to my fish finder?
  12. Here in Indiana we have Turtle Creek. It's an idle only and 14 foot boat minimum lake that is heated from a power plant. It also has a 20in limit. It has produced some big fish despite the wind hazards and shallow water. Several years ago they had a discharge issue that killed pretty much everything in it, including some DDs. With the relaxed regulation and changes at the plant, the lake has never fully recovered.
  13. Maybe both. I have done well with the Bellows Gill, Bellows Shad, Imo Kemushi and the Bellows Craw but not so much on the Bellows Stick. Anything else I have tossed in the leftover bags has gotten bit but they are things like Senkos, Beavers, and Lizards (stuff that gets bites as it is).
  14. I have used Gulp, Megastrike, Bang, and Bait Fuel. I was convinced at some point that all of these "Attracted " fish but I'm not so sure anymore. I think it might make a hungry fish hold on longer but I don't think a fish that is buried in cover is going to smell it and try to eat it based on the scent alone. There maybe one exception and I may change my mind down the road...... Geecrack. Whatever they put in their baits stinks really bad and it lasts. The fish seem to like it. I have been putting other baits in the leftover empty bags and it's been (in my mind) getting the fish to bite.
  15. In bulk spools I have used Sufix Elite and Siege. Elite has been the best far as memory goes. Another good one to take a look at is Runcl on Amazon. I have used the 6lb on spinning tackle and have had no issues. I have also tried a few lines from KastKing and was not impressed. I use what is left for backing.
  16. I have few in the LV finish and they really give off some flash. As far as I can tell, they are a slow sink. Depending on the water, I would say around 6ft is it's usual running depth and in warmer water, maybe 8ft.
  17. Won't ever forget hearing this on the way to work many years ago. Always made me laugh.
  18. In the way I fish I don't see any benefits to going heavier than 50lb. Also, I am not a fan of braid for swimbaits. It only took one snap and a lost glide bait to convince me. I have yet to loose one on mono or FC. There is also something to how braid effects the action of swimbaits that I don't like. Can't explain it but I definitely want some stretch in the line when a fish hits.
  19. I may get the Conquest 31HG but other than that, I'm done for the year. I spent my budget already.
  20. They can be had on JDM sites for about half that. Check Digitaka. They also do not have set pricing so coupons work on US sites like Omnia. The colors I have done well with in the Evoke 3.0 are Sexy Shad, Horizon Shad, and Blue Back Chartreuse but not so much in the Bluegill and Scum Perch. In the 4.0, it's the opposite. I have caught several on the Bluegill. In the 2.0, Black Back Shad is the money color but any of the colors have caught fish for me. Nice thing about this bait (2.0 only), is that its almost snag proof. I have tossed them into some pretty nasty stuff and it just bounces around. I haven't lost one yet. It's the only crankbait I have that I can say that about. I have lost several Strike Kings and LC 2.0 cranks. When you add them up, I have saved money with Evokes. In the Raid Level Goriller, I have the Neon Back Chartreuse and Blue Back Chartreuse. I bought these last year and have only caught a few fish with them but I can tell they will be a good ones when spring hits.
  21. I knew several people that had these reels and I am surprised that they are still around. All of us had issues. I had two of the Energy Pti spinning reels. Both died in less than a year. I sent them back to Quantum for multiple issues and was even sent new reels. I also had the Tour Edition (Blue Finish) and it too was dead in less than a year. Also, sent it back to Quantum multiple times and was given a new reel. It was a coffee grinder. All them them ended up in the trash. They are what inspired me to learn how to work on reels. Also, the finish on them started to flake off almost immediately and I was pretty good at babying these reels as well. I am not going to knock Quantum totally. They did their best to work on them but it just didn't work out. Plus, I have had good luck with a Smoke and their previous Tour Edition.
  22. Deps Evoke 3.0 and 4.0 and the Raid Level Crank Goriller.
  23. Thought of another one. The Raid G Dash. I had a return to Amazon and used the gift card to purchase one from Amazon Japan. I haven't received it yet. It will hopefully arrive in a week.
  24. So far Dirty Jigs makes my favorite.
  25. That was one of the ones I was scoping out. I am hoping it has the GLX glitter but is clear. Very cool color.
