  1. There are six to a pack and they cost $6. At a buck a piece, I may not be buying these to often. One other thing, they smell like a new rubber tire. The stench is pretty strong. I may be putting some sort of attractent on them.
  2. That's funny stuff... goofy but funny. If anything, you got to love the boat.
  3. When I buy a new hard bait, I look at every single one of that particular lure that is on the shelf. I lay them all out and pick which one is best for color and quality. When I buy softplastic, I will take it out of the package, feel it and smell it. Buying a reel and rod could take all day. Not only am I looking for the best deal, I am looking for it to be perfect. I will take a reel apart, mount it to a rod and if necessary, I have had sales people spool a few up for me to test out in the store. It can get ugly. When it comes to using equipment, I am perfectly happy as long as I'm fishing.
  4. I had to go with a Smallmouth. I hooked a 4lb last year and thought I had at least an 7-8lb Largemouth. It was one the hardest fighting freshwater fish I have ever caught.
  5. My wife stopped by a tackle shop and picked me a couple of things for Valentine's Day. One of them happened to be a pack of Reaction Strike Tubes. The tackle shop had just put them on the shelf. It has to be one of the weirdest tube baits I have ever seen. They look like some one made a tube bait out of a softplastic minnow. I couldn't find them on their website but I did find a link for a Texas tackle shop that has them. Let me know what you guys think..... http://www.texasbasstackle.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=734
  6. This is my shoe of choice for the wet stuff and everyday fishing. http://www.merrell.com/Product/NZGP/Mens-Active-Footwear/Hiking/Mens/Chameleon-Wrap-Gore-Tex-XCR.aspx
  7. WOW I would love to see that funny colored Zillion hit the US.
  8. I just bought my first one of these last week in the M. Hasu color. I can't wait to use it. It is the most detailed bait I have ever seen. It's so PRETTY though, it may never leave it's case.
  9. Anybody try this stuff? I like to try out a new line every year and this one is on my list of choices. Any opinions would be great....... http://www.***.com/descpageLINEDAIWA-DSF.html
  10. Looks like a good idea but couldn't you a complish the same thing with the correct jig head? Also, tungsten is supposed to be harder than lead. Why is the weight on their website so beat up looking? I might eventually try these things but based on what I've seen, I'll pass for now.
  11. I owned several two piece rods over the years and never cared for them. IMHO, a one piece rod is more sensitive and after having an old catfish rod come apart when I was reeling in an average size cat, I won't buy one again.
  12. That's too funny.... Here are a few approx. figures to ponder from the US Census...... 300,000,000 US Population 51,000,000 Hospitalized with a Major Mental/Physical Illness 14,000,000 Suffer from Schiztophrenia or Dimmensia at Home 80,000,000 Age 0-10 and 85+ 2,000,000 Are in Jail 1,000,000 Are Blind That leaves about 150,000,000 to 200,000,000 from the age of 11-84 whom are able to have a gun. So if 80,000,000 own a gun that's about 1 out of every 2 people that are age 11-84 and are physically capable of holding a gun, have one.
  13. I got to get a close look at one of these over Christmas time and it is a nice bait but I don't see where it would be any better than a regular LC pointer. It's hard enough to shell out $15 for the regular Pointer. Why I spend another $5?
  14. One more shot with Eddie Van Halen.
  15. Here is another one of my favorites. He has not been mentioned yet. If you're a fan of Glenn Campbell, you might like it.
  16. I have a 5 year old daughter and this hits pretty close to home, except she went after the dog food/bisquits and the dog's water. Our version of tea and cookies.
  17. How about a Shimano Citica? It's not on your list buy you can pick one up for $85 with a rebate. It's a good, easy to use, solid performing reel.
  18. I try to use a little backing, maybe 1/16-1/8 of an inch. I use the cheapest stuff I can find. Once I get to a certain point of line damage or usage, I respool keeping the old backing on. At the end of the year I strip the reel bare and store until next season. The following year I will put new backing on and respool.
  19. This is not a joke, my brothers 1996 Ford F150 has over 600,000 miles on it. My niece would perform in plays all over the country, she lived in New York and attended school their. My brother and his wife would travel all over the place with her and when she lived in New York they would travel there about two or three times a month. If I am not mistaken, their was a guy with a beat up 1986 white F-150 that turned a million on his truck about 3 years ago and is still driving it. I think he has a 200+ mile round trip to work everyday.
  20. Randy Rhodes probably has more musical education than anybody that has been mentioned. http://www.angelfire.com/rock/ozzyland/Rhoadsbio.html Eddie also plays the piano and drums. He is an electronical genius.
  21. Sounds like a great deal. I would jump all over it. Just look at this way, if you ever break it you can send it back and get a brand new one for $50. That put's you at $200, which is still way cheaper than the current list price.
  22. I like using a single tail GYCB grub in white and sometimes green pumpkin with black flake with a 1/8oz jig head. I use 6lb test line with a Quantum Energy Pti-a 20 and a St. Croix Avid 6'ML spinning rod.
  23. A few of the ponds I go to here in Indiana are over stocked with them. It is not uncommon at one pond I go to to see 75-100 carp that are 20lbs+ hitting the top of the water at sundown. The problem is that there are so many that the bass seem to get smaller and smaller every year. I have caught a few and thrown them back but I often find one from time to time tossed on the bank left to die. I don't get it.
  24. IMHO, the best guitar player is Eddie Van Halen. I didn't realize how amazing the guy was until the younger generation guitar players in most bands stopped playing. I know that there several other great ones out there but for some reason this guy is my favorite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQxDW_-pz1o&feature=related
  25. I like the new Trilene Flourocarbon. I have tried 8lb, 12lb and 15lb all have worked great. All the things I have disliked about Flourocarbon in the past have so far been fixed with this line. I have been using mostly for softplastic Texas rigs and jigs but I do use for crankbaits that I want to run deeper. I usually use Yo-Zuri or P-Line Floroclear for everything else.
