  1. I have had four Quantums in the past three years. I had a Tour Edition Baitcaster, 2 Energy Pti-a 20 spinning reels and Shaw Grigsby combo from Dicks. The Tour Edition worked great for about a year and then one of the drag washers cracked. One of the Energy pti-a anti reverse stopped working properly and the other I think I just wore out. Both after of them went down after about two years of use. They both worked well and were serviced once. As for the combo, I sold it to a buddy and he says is still working great (go figure). I was lucky though, the place where I purchased them were able to exchange them for me. I have decided to stay away from Quantum.
  2. That's funny. I had to pull this one out of the archives. Don't get me wrong, I love cats.
  3. I have a high speed Zillion and love it so far. Great reel.
  4. I didn't know the bait monkey could cause amnesia. I will have to save that one for my wife when the next box from Tackle Warehouse arrives.
  5. For Senkos I like the G.Loomis BCR 803.
  6. Craftsman has always been my favorite. For the average household (at home mechanic) they're great but I would only buy them in large bulk sets. Not in small individuals sets. If you keep your eyes open, they will have some sets around Christmas for 1/2 price. As far as cordless tools go I like Crastman but I like DeWalt better and again buy the largest set you can afford that comes with the most batteries. Also, a word of advice on the batteries....Dont leave the batteries on the chargers, charge when needed. It drains the life way faster than normal use, even if it states that the batteries has no memory. I have quick charger that will charge a battery in less than 15mins. I have had the current batteries I got with my set for 7 years and they still last for about 4-8 hours of normal use.
  7. I cut coupons and buy the local zoo coupon book. The zoo coupon book cost about $25 but it has lots of useful coupons in it, like gas $48 in gas coupons. I also buy a lot of tackle a Dicks when they have a sale. Like this week they had Rapalas, Gamakatzu, and most soft plastic 20%. They also have a spend $50 and get $10 off coupon in the Indiana DNR book. So I was able to pick up some Rapala DT for $4.48 and some Senkos for $3.84 a pack.
  8. Got a favorite? What do you like or dislike about these reels? Can you compare any to another? Steez vs. Core Chronarch MG vs. Revo Premier Thanks for any thoughts.....
  9. Curado, Revo Premier (for now) Where's the Daiwa Zillion? One of the best workhorse reels out there.
  10. I caught a few last year but it is not a go to bait for me. I don't tend to have the best luck with them. I have tried several colors and presentations.
  11. The most I have ever spent on a lure was a Megabass Swimbait. It costs me $30 shipped on ebay. The regular retail on this lure is $65. As far as crankbaits go $15.
  12. I too fish the DT hula grub with a TruTungsten Jig head. I like the Weed Wacker the best. My only complaint with these jig head is that the wire for the hook is not as strong as I would like. I have had a few break on me.
  13. I think Jarden owns them now, along What all does Jarden own now? Also, Micro mentioned this offer is on hold. How can you put a rebate offer on hold? I too want my cash.
  14. Upon arriving at a Disney World hotel in Florida, you ask your family, "OK, who wants to go fishing?"
  15. WOW That's a big fish. What is the lure above that it was caught on?
  16. I like them but they are expensive. I think the main benifit to using them is the obviously the size.
  17. I sent mine in a month ago and nothing yet. I did call with a question regarding Trilene Fluorocarbon's rebate and the call center lady said that they are overwhelmed with rebates. I also sent a rebate form back in Feb. to them for some baits and I got my money in 5 days. So maybe they're just that busy.
  18. Metallica stopped being Metallica after the Black Album. I don't remember where I read this but it was directed at them. "Don't cut your hair and sell out."
  19. Crown and Coke for me. It's just simple and smooth.
  20. Love catching crappie. I will try a small jig and a single tail grub and a floating fly with a 1/4 sinker and about 4 feet of leader but my favorite is a Mepps inline spinner bait.
  21. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/04/07/salmon.collapse.ap/index.html I have never fished for these awesome fish but I always see great shows on tv about what an awesome catch they are. When I read this article I found it quite disturbing.
  22. Somebody start translating that catalog. Details are needed
  23. Shimano Calcutta 251.
  24. That must of have been one big leopard. I didn't think they stretched that far.
  25. My Revo Premier got it's first real test today and I noticed that when I adjusted the brakes around half way to max, it made a weird noise as the spool slowed and the lure hit the water. I can only describe the noise as a high pitch grind. Is this normal for the Linear Magnetic Braking system on the Premier, STX and SX? Other than the noise, it performed flawlessly. It has so much power that it seems like overkill and it also did an outstanding job casting. I caught several bass between 1lb-3lbs today and none of them seemed like much of a challenge for this reel. I was just concerned about the noise. I never noticed it with any other reel I have ever used.
