  1. I have seen you mention this line before. It looks like it's $40 a spool at Tackle Warehouse. Is there a cheaper place to find it? The reviews say it is pretty much the greatest line ever.
  2. I have been using Trilene 100% since it came out. Awesome line. I have also tried Seagar Invisix with great results. I have tried Gama and it was too stretchy for my taste.
  3. I picked up a Citica last week for $44. I'll be going back on Friday.
  4. FishTank

    Jigs

When I looked into it, it seemed cheaper to by them at a store.
  5. Depending on how you fish it or tune it, the mann's -1 in baby bass was awesome for me today. I fished it right at the surface and had two great fish jump out of the water and crush it.
  6. Where do I want to start...... 1. I hooked into a dead body..... A small lake I had been fishing in for years when I was kid had become a dumping ground. A nursing school dumped a cadaver and used medical supplies in it. I was fishing braid and got snagged. The body was in shallow water. It floated to the top. I called the police and spent the rest of the day freaking out...... 2. When I was a child I went fishing with two of my brothers and my dad. We went to a strip pit pond in the middle of no where (southern Indiana). We drove off road for about 15 miles to get to this honey hole. When we got there, it was amazing. We caught tons of fish, Large Mouth bass, blue gill, and catfish. When we got ready to leave, my dad asked my brother for the keys to the car and he tossed them to my dad, four feet over his head and into the lake. We spent the night outside on the ground. We go eaten alive by bugs. We then walked backed to the nearest thing that looked like civilization. I don't remember anything but walking forever. What was the greatest trip turned into the worst. 3. I put a hook into my brothers forehead while trying to cast. It was so deep it required surgery. 4. While fishing with my father, he went to set the hook with some top water bait and pulled so hard he tipped the john boat over. Dumping me and all of the equipment into the lake. He lost his keys, wallet, and pocket money. Bad thing was, he was fishing a new setup for the first time. I can't remember exactly what it was but it was the most expensive set up he had. To make matters worse, his friends and my friends all witnessed it. About a month later, my dad did the same thing again only to hold onto his new, replacement rod and reel this time. When he got back into the boat he reeled in his line and he had hooked into something. It was the first rod and reel he dumped in lake. Irony....
  7. Lebron going to Cleveland is the greatest gift they could have received. The Pacer's are young. Lebron can cry and flop in another city. He is the best talent in the league but he travels and fouls so much the refs can't call them all. As far as Hibbert goes, the guy was done half way through the season. He was fatigued. The more tired he got, the more his immaturity blossomed. Let's see what happens when Lance Stephenson goes to Cleveland to play Lebron. He has talent and strength but his brain is made of straw. If any one has not see it..... Why Lebron went to Miami... I could not find the original, sorry. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4n5bwcN-Fw
  8. That's a great score. I love the bi color ones. I have seen these at Wal Mart a few years ago. Are they exactly the same?
  9. Ok... That is an awesome idea. I will have to get some this stuff.
  10. I use the 5 inch senkos. I have tried the alternatives, Yum Dingers, BPS version, Gander Mountians, and one online maker (can't remember the name). Nothing works as good as the Senko. The BPS version came close but if I buy the senkos on sale they are the same price as the ones from BPS. As far as color goes anything dark will work. There is one that I love that is not a conventional color though, Smoke blue pearl silver laminate. I can't tell you why it works it just does. I fish it weighted when I went to get to the bottom or a certain depth faster.
  11. I don't wacky rig them very often and when I do I have bag of o rings I secure the worm and hook to. They do brake easier when they are wacky rigged though. I generally use a texas rig.
  12. If you can find it, I have seen for the Shimano Sahara for $50 on sale. It may have been last years model but this is a great real for the money. I think it usually goes for $70-$80.
  13. Here you go..... I never fish for carp but this guy knows his stuff.
  14. Blood worms when I can find them. I have also tried centipedes with great success.
  15. I have a St. Croix Avid ML that I love for panfish. It is a bit of overkill but it is a versatile set up. I have caught a lot of large mouth, perch and crappie with this set up as well.
  16. Walleye and Tarpon. I wish I had the time and money to travel to fish them.
  17. They have gotten expensive but you can get them cheap if you keep your eye out for them when they are on sale. I usually wait until Dick's has them 2 for $10 or 2 for $12. Then I use a $10 off of $50 coupon .That's ten packs for around $40 ($4 for each pack). I can handle that. But at $7.50 a pack, I am going to think twice.
  18. When I use Senkos, depending how they are rigged, I usually don't lose them. I do however see a lot of guys toss them in the lake after they have worn out. It has always been a pet peeve of mine, that you should toss used soft plastic in the trash instead of the lake.
  19. I use to live in Antioch near Percy Priest years ago. I didn't matter much what I fished there, when the fish were biting it worked but if it rained or if the weather was bad, nothing would bite. I never made it up to Greenbrier. With having Percy Priest in my back yard (so to speak), I never had much call to travel out and fish different lakes. I sure do miss it though. I always had good luck with Senkos. If they are not working, I go to Zoom lizards and then crankbaits. When it comes to crankbaits, I like anything that rattles and has a dark stripe across the top. I usually use a Lucky Craft Flat Mini MR chartreuse chad or root beer chartreuse.
  20. When out today for 4 hours and it pored down rain. Nothing was biting. I tried just about every topwater bait I had, crankbaits (deep and shallow), senkos, tubes, not a bite. Then I put on a Fat Ika before I decided to call it a day. (Usually by know, I have caught at least 5 or 6 nice large mouth) On the third cast with the Ika, something hits it like a ton of bricks. I set the hook and fight is on. The way the fish was fighting I knew it was not a large mouth. When it was all said and done, I had caught a nice 3lb Spotted Channel Cat. Nothing huge but it was fun. The Ika never seems to surprise me at to what it will attract. Any of you guys use this bait with success?
  21. I use both Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft and Yo Zuri Hybid and there is a difference between the two. The big one is how manageable Ultra Soft is compared to the regular hybrid. Both are great lines. I have used 10lb for crankbaits on baitcasting gear and 6lb on spinning gear in both types. I picked up three 725 yard spools of the regular hybrid clearanced out for $4 each a few years ago.
  22. I have to agree my Core is not as smooth as some of the other reels I have fished but it's light, gets the job done and feels good in my hand. One thing that did improve the smoothness of the reel was cleaning the pinion gear. I found it had more build up in it than other reels. Maybe it had to much oil in there to begin with. One day I would like to compare it to the Okuma Helois Air. It may be the next baitmonkey purchase.
  23. When I contacted G. Loomis they just asked for $100 bucks and sent me a new rod. I never sent one in but I thought it used to be $50. Maybe I missed something.
  24. There are to many factors that can contribute to how you should set up a reel. In general I use one break on my Shimano Core and two on everything else but if it is windy or I have just put new line on I might use 3 or 4. For my Daiwa Zillion, I leave it on 5 most of the time but I change it more based on the weight of the lure rather than conditions.
  25. Any thing with a dark belly.
