I first heard this from a buddy that is "close" to the NFL. He usually is pretty good at knowing this stuff before anybody but he even told me, it was just rumor. I have two small plano boxes. One is for bass/soft plastic and the other is for pan fish and catfish. I put the hooks on a piece of foam made for flies. I also keep bags of silicone in each box to keep the moisture out.

No, short answer. Which FC have you been using? Big Game is good line but it does not have the sensitivity of FC nor does it last as long. It is however very cheap. A good alternative is Yo Zuri hybrid or Seagur Senshi.

If it is silvery blue, check out the D6. It came in couple different colors. If you could post a pic of what you have, it would help.

I drove two hours to bass pro shop. I bought a Shimano Crucial Rod (old original version by the way). Drove home, fished it for 15 minutes, and it broke 4 inches from the top. I drove back, exchanged it for another just like. Drove home, fished the newer rod, it broke in same spot on the first fish. I drove back the next day, again, for the third time. That was about $120+ in gas. Stupid... I picked up G Loomis IMX 844C on the last trip. I have been fishing for about 8 years now. Just in case, I have the previous version cranking crucial and love it.

Shimano Chronarch would be my choice. It's easy to set up, cast well and I rarely get backlashes. All things you would want to look for in a first time reel.

Awesome that is a tough test. When I was working out there was a young lady at the gym that would workout like a dog. I asked her one day what was going on and she said she was training to be a sports fire and rescue paramedic. She had to do the same training as a fire firefighter in that test but that 180lb dummy you mentioned, had to be picked up and carried up and down 4 flights of stairs. This women weighed 125lb and could deadlift 275b. She made it though. She works for a company now that handles pro, college, and high school sports games. It takes some serious dedication.

I have a 6' ML fast St. Croix Avid spinning rod with a older Shimano Stradic 2500. Anytime I get stuck somewhere and need to toss a weightless worm, small spinnerbait or even a topwater lure, this set up fits the bill.
