  1. Cool> Thanks You've got to love Google Translate.... Overwhelm with power. A standard-bearer of a circular reel that sticks to winding.
  2. The BPS knocker has worked for me and it has payed for itself more than once.
  3. Megabass Pro Blue
  4. A new Conquest..... ?
  5. I have 20 combos total. I take at the most 6 when I am on a boat, 2 on a kayak, and 2 if I am fishing from the bank. I think 5 is enough but why stop there.
  6. In the past few years I have purchased several new reels/rods and a few were duds..... Some of the notable bad ones.... Abu Garcia STX Gen4 Quantum Accurist (Generation before S3) Shimano Vanquish > great reel but I was excepting more for the price tag. Should have gotten a Stradic or waited for the Vanford Okuma Helios Air Fenwick Elite Tech Walleye Spinning and an Elite Tech Bass Casting G. Loomis GLX 803C > I do love this rod but I had the original and was sent a newer version (2nd generation?) when I did a warranty exchange. It's not as good as the one I had.
  7. Not a big fan of Sufix Advance but I do like Elite for mono. For squarebills and crankbaits though, I like Sunline Defier 13lb.
  8. Either at $200 or $400 or even $600 or $1000, at some point it becomes about fishing pleasure. Where you draw that line, is up to you. To me fishing is fun and pleasure, so what ever gets me there. I have several rods and reels that I enjoy. For example, I have a little over $1000 invested in one setup and say less than $150 in another. Both are fun and I like them for different reasons but the $1000+ setup is about all day fishing nirvana. Will someone get the same goosebumps I do when they fish it> who knows?
  9. I have the Curado DC and so far so good. It's smooth, casts great, and has taken a beating since I got it but it's a tool for a purpose> fishing in difficult situations. I don't know if I would use it as my go to reel though. I have used mine on various rods for heavy jigs, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits.
  10. 30lb is almost musky and pike territory. I would use it with 65lb or 80lb braid and some big baits. The 6lb would go with 20lb braid for smallmouth and largemouth. I would use for tubes and weightless 4in senkos. Trying out the 12lb Gold Label this year for my general purpose bass set up. We will se how it goes.
  11. I haven't used a spinning rod for jerkbaits before, just doesn't seem right to the way I fish but I use the Loomis 783C GLX casting. I don't see why the same rod in a spinning set up wouldn't work> 783S SJR GLX
  12. Shimano Anatares 70A. Awesome reel. Does it all.
  13. I try to learn or relearn a technique each year. It keeps things fun and breaks up the monotony. This years technique is the Gika Rig. On a side note, I fish with a guy that uses the same soft plastic worm (size and color) for everything and every condition. Some days it's hot but there are a lot of days, it's not and he will get skunked before he changes up. It can make for a frustrating eight hours out on the water. I have tried to switch him over to other baits by just giving them to him but even if he catches something on a new bait he will go back to the same worm.
  14. How much are looking to spend? Are you looking for a light weight reel more for finesse? Are you going to use it for more than just a shakeyhead rod?
  15. I will have my K on a 7' MH Fast St. Croix Avid this upcoming season. I have had this rod for years and it has seen several Curados over the years. It is sort of my do all rod (aka Jack of All Trades). I know how it casts, balances and feels under load. I can use it for anything I tend to fish. I may have over recommended this rod on this forum but I have yet to find one that equals it's value, versatility, and sensitivity, plus its stood up to plenty of abuse.
  16. I have the Curado DC and it has been a great reel. I have been able to cast lures in conditions that would usually be quite difficult and the DC braking system works flawlessly. From a price point, I think this reel is pretty decent value when you compare it to other DC reels.
  17. To tell the truth, I have never been burnt on ebay. I have had some concerns but nothing major.
  18. I have posted links to things on eBay in the past and on occasion they have been removed. So here goes.... https://www.ebay.com/itm/284143018702
  19. I have come to the conclusion on sunglass that you want to do two things...... increase contrast and cut down on glare. So blue mirror for bright open water and brown/copper for early morning or overcast days.
  20. I have seen some odd knock off scams on ebay but this one got me laughing.......
  21. I have tried using weights but I like to do it by hand. I just have a feel for where it should be depending on the line, rod and lure. If I had to guess, I am about 40% - 50% of the breaking strength. So 12lb line would be about 5 - 6lbs of drag.
  22. 6lb Seaguar Tatsu cast the best out of any spinning gear line I have tried but I actually tend to like Trilene XL 100% FC better. It tends to be a little softer and the knot strength is just as good. It doesn't hold up as well but since I use spinning gear less than casting, it's more cost effective.
  23. They may not be fishing the highest end gear (because of sponsors) but they are fishing in the highest end boats with the world's best electronics.
