  1. Works great. Just cast it, let it sink to the bottom, and pop it a little.
  2. Deps Slide Swimmer 250..... I will never buy one but they are cool looking.
  3. I have several Megabass baits and some are hit and miss. The two main ones that didn't get the job done.... Any of their soft plastic and the Cyclone crankbaits. I can't speak for everything they make but most everything I have has caught fish pretty well. The question is are they worth the extra cost.... Probably not at full price. And like a lot of things in fishing, they catch more fisherman than fish.
  4. The 7.X:1 ratio is the fastest I own. I have tried one the Revo Rockets and it was too fast for the way I fish. I can't see going any quicker than what I currently have.
  5. I just picked up the 2017 and so far so good. I haven't heard anything about a new version coming out.
  6. I haven't tried the new one but the Shimano Sahara use to be a great budget reel.
  7. Shimano Bantam MGL PGL (JDM Version).
  8. Braid> Xplazma from Sunline Mono> Deifer also from Sunline FC > Seaguar Tatsu, Invizx, and Abrazx. I also like Trilene XL100% FC for spinning gear
  9. Unlike baseball, when I'm fishing I swing at every thing. Soft at first, then hard when I feel the line take hold. I am not the best jig fisherman but this is my process. Also, I think you have to remember the fish gets in its mouth and has get through the skirt and the weed guard. It's a small window when it comes to the open space you have to set the hook, compared to other baits. To me, this is where the right equipment is crucial and experience is also key.
  10. Don't upgrade....... Add to.....
  11. I have the Curado K and DC, the Bantam, and Chronarch MGL and between all of them, I like the Bantam the best. On the other hand the Chronarch is fun to fish. If I were choosing, I would get the Bantam JDM but the Metanium JDM would be very tempting.
  12. Where did you find this particular color. I love the fat ika.
  13. I like the Plano Edge but a regular box and a glue gun does the trick.
  14. I don't fish them hardly at all anymore and I don't know why. They always produced for me. I used Mister Twisters and the big ones from Yamamoto.
  15. I have 3 of them in the 6in size and they have been great. You have to find the correct retrieve speed. Too slow, it doesn't make a ton of motion. Too fast, it turns over. So far it has been the soft plastic swimbait I have used.
  16. Good deal. I would snag it.
  17. Shimano. Each reel I have, has been problem free unless I have damaged it. No reel manufacturer is 100% bullet proof though.
  18. Plano Edge 3700 Deep or regular.
  19. Lucky Craft 1.5 or 2.0 RT or DRS in Golden Shiner.

  21. I like it. The other silicone sets I looked at were over $45, some around $100.
  22. I was at Lowe's today to pick up a few things and came across this silicone tray set (they had just unpacked it). I have on more than one occasion dropped a screw or part and went crazy looking for it. This today was a big help on tearing down my new Chronarch and keeping things organized. If you work on reels, it is well worth the $30 for these things. I can't recommend them enough.
  23. Easy.... St. Croix Avid. They have a rod in this line up to fit all your needs. Another thought, I like the St. Croix Legend Glass better for crankbaits.
  24. I have the Steez SV TW and had been debating on a Steez A when the CT caught my eye. The more I looked at it, the more I was like how would I fit this into my rotation of setups. I had the A in my cart at #@%#$ (it won't let me type it) Japan tackle shop for $360 shipped but ended up getting an old Shimano Metanium Mg7 V2 Limited. It was Shimano's kind of failed attempt at a limited run reel. Since I recently lost a Core (same reel sort of) to the depths, I couldn't resist. If the Steez A is still floating around next year, I will have to check out Digitaka.
