Any recommendations on trolling motor batteries? I know the differences in AGM vs traditional lead-acid batteries. Not sure I can afford the upper end batteries. What's the best bang for my buck? I have a 15.5' aluminum boat so it's not terribly heavy. TIA
My dad is giving me his Lakesport aluminum boat when I go home for New Years. It doesn't have carpet so in the future I would like to add some. Is there a particular brand/type that is better than others as far as durability, texture, resistance to hooks getting snagged beyond hope? TIA for any responses.
I'm looking to buy some new tires for my boat trailer and was wondering if anyone has any info about Rainier tires? Are they any good? What are the best radial tires for 13" rims? Thanks in advance.
I've probably caught more fish on a weightless ZOOM green pumpkin green trick worm than anything else. Might not always be the biggest fish but I'll definitely always keep some in my tackle box.
I bought the LFS in 7.5:1 ratio before I got the Arachnid. I quite possibly just got a dud, but after I sent it back I listened about the Tatulas and to me there's no comparison. The Tatula is so much smoother and casts better. I got my Type R for $123 on Ebay and also got an extra $9+ back in Ebay bucks for it so about $112-113ish. The weight of it doesn't really bother me.
I found a Cabelas Arachnid (rebadged Type R) cheap on Ebay and bought it and love it. Compared to the reels I've owned in the past it's just so much smoother casting and retrieving. I'm not saying it's better than Shimanos because I've never owned or even fished with a Shimano, but I loved it so much that I bought a Type R on Ebay to go on my other rod so I could have that smooth feeling on both my setups. Haven't had a chance to use the Type R yet but the Arachnid is so easy to pitch. Can't wait to really get in some fishing with them. The Arachnid is 8.1:1 and my Type R is 6.3:1.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I am sending the LFS back, might try another one in the future. I have a serious "can't wait" problem so I bought a Cabelas Arachnid I found new on eBay for $110 and free shipping. Hoping it'll be what I want and if not, I'll return it and will have learned my lesson next time and go do more hands-on research to make sure I'm getting the real I want. Lol
So I got in my Lews LFS Speed Spool last week and fished with it Saturday. I wasn't thrilled with my purchase at all and I really wanted to be. It wasn't nearly as smooth as I was expecting and I could hear the gears the whole time I was winding. Did I just get a bad reel or are they not as good as I was hoping? Any suggestions on a reel under $100? I know all about the Tatulas but I have yet to see one for $89 as someone on here keeps suggesting. Are they any better than the Rvo3 SX? What is the smoothest/best reel that can be had for ~$100? Thanks.
I've narrowed down my probable choice to the Lew's LFS 7.5:1 which I found on Ebay for $83 new. Anybody out there have any pros/cons of this reel? Is there another reel out there under $100 that is better? I would like to get something in the 7+:1 range. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
